  1. Past hour
  2. Is anyone else concerned we're going to pull out a Burnley/Sheffield Utd performance?
  3. No more Eurovision for me. In 2007 they robbed me. Look at the song I backed: Look what won: You hear Lasha Tumbai now everyday, in every disco, every beach pub. But where did you hear the Serifovic song ever again ?? The Serbian Paparigas woman has vanished into obscurity. The utter scoundrels fixed it. Made me support brexit but only temporarily - because I discovered the brexiteers were loony types. What happened was this: Lasha Tumbai price was a good 80 to 1. Those days we did n't have Paypal in Greece but my sister had a small paypal account from when she was in the UK so she borrowed me 30 euros to make the bet with betfair. She was n't giving me more, so I did n't cover myself with place bets (40 to 1 - not bad). But it was a big time fraud. I never switch the tv on since then to watch the rubbish, but I have noticed it was n't the first and only time they gave the prize to stupid songs.
  4. I think it is obvious Poch is not a top manager anymore, if he ever was. He's not terrible either. Tactically he has not moved with the times until recently, where finally he's deployed the kind of 3-2-5 attacking setup that most of the top teams of the last few years have been using. Graham Potter in all honestly probably would have done a better job this year. But, at this point I can see the merit in keeping him on. Let the players have continuity under him for one more season. Another year to develop and assess this squad we've built. Start to fix our reputation for sacking managers too soon and not giving them a fair shot. Then bring in a top manager and go after a couple of players to hopefully finish off the puzzle of a side that can compete for titles under one of the world's elite managers, who inherits a squad of players who are close to entering their prime instead of being a little undercooked.
  5. Well, the Maatsen situation was more broadly to do with his insistence not to revert back to a 343 even though the squad make up at times made this the most obvious fit. Instead we wasted a year of Colwills development playing him at LB, Maatsen never got a chance, Caicedo and Enzo got played into the ground/exposed as Gallagher should've never left the pivot to help them out, while he could then play to his strengths and arrive later to the attacking phases rather than instigate them. The there was is refusal to drop Disaster, Sanchez, Sterling and Caicedo at times - even for there own sakes. Then there are his: A) substitutions, which to this day are still purely reactive rather than proactive B) his tactics if the game gets tight where he decides to play the game out for a draw even if we aren't set up for it and he insteads tells the teams to drop 10 yards and get tighter together whilst leaving positional clowns like Disaster and Caicedo (particularly up until two months ago) on the pitch. For me, beating up Everton, West Ham and Tottenham- whilst in poor form - isn't enough for me after what I have witnessed all season. That isn't to say he should be sacked, it is just that I am still seriously unconvinced and will need to see more evidence/see who is a actual possible replacement.
  6. I doubt we go back to par because we are finishing the season strong and always, I mean always when we end the season like that it spills in the new season until we start to decrease in November. That being said one of the biggest bad for me was Maatsen. I always wanted to give him a try before Cucu, but he kept up with him during that time. Now Cucu has improve, but it would have been better a younger product from Chelsea to be giving the time to adjust. Kind of like he did with Gallagher. But in the end you can't win them all.
  7. Today
  8. Not really a surprise with the players/squads we've had in that time.
  9. I cannot say I don't think Amorim is a massive risk, however like @Strike I need a lot more evidence in the next few games that Poch has 'turned a corner' and hasn't just been fortunate with playing out of form teams. Whilst, I am happy to say Poch has had a lot of issues to deal with, he has also done/not seen a lot of concerning things throughout the season. For me, keeping him on and then him going back to par is also a massive risk for next season.
  10. Villa, West Ham and Spurs have been losing frequently. I would like to wait before thinking that the overall performance levels have increased. A much bigger sample size is needed before thinking we've turned a corner. Although I am happy to continue with Poch rather than uproot the system again
  11. First Chelsea player since Eden to win this thing
  12. That will the dumbest thing they do. Amorin is another AVB. Someone who don't have experience from PL and will pull us back another year. Keep Poch, he already had one season and knows the players a bit better. Don't need the phase of "trying out" players.
  13. We will upgrade with more kids after you get rid of your best midfielder Gallagher , Chalobah and Silva who is your best defenders . How about some world class midfielder , defender , or winger no we are farming fc trust the process to make money . It is good to take supposedly elite talents when you have leaders in the team around whom these talents can develop, but when you don't have them, the only thing you do is to chase your profit from these young people.
  14. Palmeiras is not a traditional formative club. The best players in their history were formed by other clubs. The real interest and investments in the academy is recent, maybe the last 08 years, something like that. This is probably the first generation of good players formed in the club, with Estevao, Endrick and Luiz Guilherme. Is much more reliable when a potential talent is formed by Sao Paulo, Flamengo, Santos, Gremio, Fluminense, Vasco etc, because they had many of them in their academies in the past and have more experience identifying the best prospects.
  15. It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow. There was this big anti-Israel campaign at Eurovision but apparently they did amazing in televoting last night and skyrocket in odds. Second favorite now after Croatia.
  16. I think it is clear we are getting Amorim. I say this as: 1) Poch either doesn't have a clue what is going on with his contract/has been too grumpy when questioned about his contract. 2) Amorim was clearly the Dippers first choice before Slot. Then he went on that weird plane trip to West Ham where no is sure where he went but it doesn't appear to be to talk to West Ham. It looks highly likely Amorim is leaving this year for a new job as otherwise he wouldn't be so public in going to 'interviews' as his stock is high and Sporting aren't some sort of tinpot team. Only other club he may have done that with is Utd but I am not sure Utd's board are in a position to actually put something together yet because of the gardening leave they're on.
  17. Let's see if we can finish the season on a high and get some more wins. The positive is that we are winning those games, would have been easy for the players heads to drop after Arsenal walked all over us like it was nothing.
  18. I think for once in a long while I'm looking forward to a game.
  19. He has said the truth we are turning a corner. I suspect next season we will do much better. Finally turning a corner and he can see it. Now he will be foolish to stop this by sacking the manager. Hopefully he continues with Poch.
  20. How do you fight a dangerous enemy hiding among civilians ? Or you don't ? How would you fight Hitler's werewolves if they were real (they were not - they gave up) ?
  21. Not sure about that. Disaster is what is known as a depreciating asset. Fortunately for us - and him to an extent - the chaos at the club has covered up just how bad he is. If I were in charge my first point of action would be to sell him to the highest bidder, as the more he plays, the more he will be harder to shift - especially if we start playing well consistently.
  22. We gave them so much money Brighton should play tomorrow for us because there's nothing for them.
  23. I would love to see Reece even for 10 minutes. As for the starting line up the only change I want is Gusto in for Silva. Use Nkunku from the bench. Lets finish the season on 5 straight wins and turn the negative narrative on its head. Come on Chelsea!
  24. Yup they are worth a punt. The club as far as youth are doing good. Just a few that have been bad. Since January of last year the worst has been Disasi.. But I guess he can have a descent resale value so that might not be bad.
  25. I considered to go watch it but they are selling tickets for 1000-1200 Euros.. I underestimated big time.
  26. Olympiakos played like an amateur team yesterday. Yet thanks to Kaabi and the keeper Tzolakis they managed to win 2-0. Villa too played poorly, but they also had a mountainous task to overcome. I watched this because I backed Olympiakos.
