  1. 1. Who you want to see as the new manager?

Yeah, the history of this club would work against us hoping he's a long-term solution.

Hopefully Roman's had a change of hear though & decided to stick with this one for the full length of his contract.

Its time to stop the long-term talk.

Long term is not the solution for everything.

By long-term I mean allowed the time to achieve the goals laid out for him.

If we have 2 trophyless season he must get the axe. 1 is acceptable. 2 is not.

edit: no 2 trophyless seasons, but 2 pathetic seasons as the last one under Carlo.

He might do a good job and still win no trophy. But if he has the same performance as Carlo, then he must be fired.

People are saying that he is too young. That could be, but being young can also help him to get along with players better, and for them to look at Andre as a friend and not as their boss.

That precisely us the problem. You need a manager that the player should fear like Mou and Guus. Carlo was more like a friend. When your subordinates start thinking of you as a friend then there is complacency and it affects the efficiency of the team. That is one of the problem I see with the signing. The other is players like Drogba, Terry, lampard, Cole, cech will still see him as Mourinho's post man and not take him seriously as a Manager. Terry, Drogba, anelka, Torres are the ones I fear who have the player power in the team.

Could be, or could be not. We still don't know too much about him.

Hard school tactics don't always work, Cappello's has hardly worked for England, Scolari tried to get a bit too tough on our players and got laughed out of Stamford Bridge, Jose was a friend to the players but at the same time if they weren't performing would kick them up the ass, its that kind of mix and from what i read about AVB in the Nou Camp he has more than got it in him to kick ass if need be.

Now going back to why we must get him in i refer to why i said we must sign Luiz, if we didn't sign Luiz City would have and we would have lived to regret it, if we don't appoint AVB some big european club will and we live to regret it, the Portuguese league may not be the strongest but he wont it by 21 fucking points and went unbeaten for fuck sake, breaking Jose's records in the process.

Fingers crossed. If he comes i'm sure he will have everyones full support. I would rather him than Hughes, thats for sure.

Agreed, that's what I mean.

Even if he has a trophyless season, as long as progress can be seen, that should be enough to satisfy the board we are heading in the right direction.

So is this season finally going to be the transitional period many have anticipated..

Bring in a young hungry manager, and get rid of the older players (Drogba, anelka and co).

Let's hope so.

Yeah, and lets start playing some good football.
