"I want to dedicate this to three very important people -- Pep Guardiola, who I only met in February but is an inspiration..., Jose Mourinho to whom I owe a lot and Bobby Robson for tolerating me,"

Villas Boas' passion for attacking football is evident, and the coach displayed sadness that the final against Braga, won with a headed goal by prolific Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, had been such a cagey and defensive affair.

The coach has had limited contact with Barcelona boss Guardiola, but has said he is a fan of the Catalan's approach.

:goodpost:

This is what we have been looking for!

it is why i was so against the Mourinho thing! Looking back is not our way.

Now that we fired Carlo we have to take risk!

Can't no longer rely on the world class manager because of his past achievement.

AVB is the risk, as he wants to practice good football, and has the talent to implement good tactics like Mourinho.

Roman get er done!

Villas-Boas paid tribute to Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola, saying how much he admires the style of football at Barca and also almost apologised for winning that final in a scrappy game, saying he wanted to put on a show."

He is all the way in South America for Copa America. How would he know?

Have to question how much a player could know but that's very interesting.

What if, he already called his favourite players, telling them he's leaving? :)

Hopefully this will be for the long haul.

Guardiola went straight to Barca and put Busquets and Pedro in the first team from the youth system, lets hope AVB does the same with Josh and Milan blue%20scalf.gif

You tell me. Should I be happy.

All I know about him is his good job with Porto, but its not that difficult to win Portuguese League with Porto, and he also won EL, but many lesser managers also won it.

I don't if he is a master of the game, or if he play defensive or offensive football. What can you tell me about him ?

If he is really a "mini-mourinho" then I'm far from happy.

I think there are reasons for the Chelsea's fans to be happy. He's an excellent coach.

Well, you're right. It's not difficult to become champion with Porto, but it's difficult to to become champion only with 3 draws. And talking about Europa League, he won it, and the team gave a show in the field in all the matches. There are very good results.

The team played, almost everytime, very good. There were a phase were the things weren't very good, but the soccer played, in general, was beautiful. He is very good tacticly. He has an excellent reading of the game, I mean, he knows how to handle with the team, and generally the substitutions are correct.

In EPL, the most important is to have a coach that's very good in the tactic's field. In my point of view, that's the key to become successeful. And he is a a master in that field. So, there are reasons for the fans to be satisfied.

I think the fans can expect a better Chelsea, a much better Chelsea.

I just want him to be announced as our manager now lol, i'm happy that he likes to play good football and put on a show, it should be interesting what he will do in the summer in terms of who's in and who's out. Also the good thing is that he hasn't won the champions league before so he will be as eager as any one to win it.

But does anyone think that he is in on the transfers, like Lukaku, De Bruyne, Modric ?

Understand your concerns.

However such risks could pay massive dividends for us instead of him. He's a very promising young manager & we should take such risks if we do really want to build a long term future. Yes it could go wrong like you're saying but it could go the other way.

Arsene Wenger only spent 1 year at the club he was at before Arsenal when they hired him and look what he's done for them (minus the last 7-8years).

I hear you. BUT i just think IF we are going to stick with him fair enough, chances of that? slim. Noone since JM has lasted more than a couple of seasons, no time to settle. This is Chelsea, bad results = OUT. Arsenal have had patience with Wenger, too much if you ask me. Last 6 years they haven't been near the standard required, they have been around but not really close.

I just can see this being a massive waste of cash AGAIN. There must be more viable options out there. I hope i'm wrong but financially this could be a poor move.

Dont think the transfer targets will change! Maybe he will want one or two other players!

Yeah, the history of this club would work against us hoping he's a long-term solution.

Hopefully Roman's had a change of hear though & decided to stick with this one for the full length of his contract.
