Rogers would cost less than Garnacho/Gittens?

no, they want at least £100m

and he is more of an AMF than a wide winger, although he can, of course, play at LW

he prefers to play more centrally, like an old inside left

Morgan Rogers has really gone up a level this season after being pretty bang average last season. Back on track to looking like the future world class player he did 2 years ago.

Think he’s going to regret signing that new deal at Villa if he keeps this up. They’ll be putting a PL record price on his head now which nobody is going to pay.

Emery is one of those managers that extracts the absolute maximum out of his teams. Must be nice…

You look at that Villa team/squad and tell me how many players get into our team. That’s what’s shameful to me. They’ve got perhaps 2 players who would start regularly for us and yet they’ve won TEN straight and are comfortably ahead of us in the table.

Such an indictment on how inconsistent/poor we’ve been. We had a huge head start on them too since they had a horror start to the season.

Let's measure next week.

No point having so many supposed top/prospectively good players and being a bad team. Our inconsistency is one thing also but there is more than that.

Yeah Villa had a shit start result wise but he publicly stated to the media his players had been lazy or living off previous successes effectively in September after a game v Sunderland. Got 16 wins since then in all competitions.

10 Wins on the trot is the headline & is some run for any side. Even better given the schedule with European games crammed in & likes of Man Utd, Arsenal, Man City included in that too. Ok Morgan Rogers comes up with the goods today to decide the game but as a team in this run they’ve been as good as anyone if not the best. Frustrating watching them as they are a properly coached team, knowing everyone knows their roles, the shape with/without the ball is good, pressing triggers, strong on set plays etc.

Next week will be a tough game - but ironically the sort of game Maresca will adapt/tweak for which may help us get something before we go back to getting out performed by some low league side.

Emery should be someone on our list if we do get rid of Maresca. He will 100% get another top top club job given how well he’s rebuilt his reputation at Villa.

Ten wins in a row for Villa. They don't look that good imo. Definitely not good enough to be 7 points clear of us. Need to win the game this weekend and I reckon we can catch them.

They definitely don't have a better squad than us but this is what happens when you have a top coach.
