I think it will say more for just how mentally strong that squad are as much as it hurts to admit it.
We had major injury problems in 06/07 and 07/08 but our sheer warrior like mentality and spirit meant we somehow kept up with and challenged Fergie's very best United sides. I see a similar spirit in these lot, unless Alisson gets injured (Adrian is tragically bad) i think they will still find a way to challenge at a minimum unfortunately.
Exactly but the reason why we didn't win it was because Man UTD took their opportunity when we were down. Even if Liverpool is mentally strong, that alone shouldn't be enough for them to win the title back to back.

They were bound to get fucked, only a matter of time. I agree we must go for the kill, they still have plenty quality but its most def doable. Klopp better not come up with excuses later on, God knows we have suffered at that front, I might be wrong but I think we had like 3-4 times where we had the full squad at the ready under FL....so they can go stuff it with the excuses.

No chance they can win it. Us, City and Spurs are all ahead of them. But they will definitely buy new CB in January.

Not a chance. They still have every chance. Nobody loses a title in 8 games when they are currently sitting 2nd/3rd.

City maybe as well with them would be the favourites still because they’ve been there before and done it. Liverpool still have huge fire power (Thiago also) and can undoubtedly add a good CB in January. Spurs would also be my next concern because they just look different this season in approach of mentality. We can be up there but we need to ensure we don't go to games v big teams and just take draws playing like we did v United.

Talk about jumping the gun. Hardly as if they are 5 or 6 points off of first already and even then Gomez and van Dijk had been making mistakes almost every week prior to their injuries (just look at their goals conceded this season - even taking out the 7-2 Villa game they'd have conceded 9 which I think after 7/8 games is poor for any defending champions or most seasons any top team in the PL) and they still have 17 points from 8 games.

Defending champions are always the favourites to win it the following season.

FIFA set to pay Liverpool £2 million in compensation after Joe Gomez injury

The defender's season could be over after he suffered a knee injury on England duty

FIFA will reportedly cover Joe Gomez’s £80,000-per-week Liverpool wages for the rest of the season after the England defender suffered a knee injury on international duty.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were already struggling with a defensive injury crisis after losing Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho, but their situation worsened last week when Gomez picked up an injury that could rule him out for the rest of the season.

According to the Daily Mail, world football’s governing body FIFA will pay around £2 million in compensation to the Premier League champions.

The FA confirmed to the newspaper that the injured centre-back’s salary would be covered by FIFA.

Are they gonna endorse other injuries as well now? More clubs will demand the same come soon.
