Magic Lamps 11,692
Thank god Burnley are back in the PL. what an enrichment for the league. Such scintillating football -.- Vesper and robsblubot
Vesper 31,180
lol, Cteh has spent £150m more just on the defenders currently under contract than Burnley has spent on ALL transfers, all players in their entire 141 year history
robsblubot 3,595
There was a moment where Burnley defense line, under mild pressure, attempted to exchange 3 passes to get the ball forward. The 3rd one went over the sideline. One of the many embarrassing moments. Left that "game" shortly past halftime: have better things to do, like watching grass grow. Vesper 31,180
hard to defeat a team that has 2nd best GK in the planet (Ederson, after Cuntois) best right-footed (and overall) CB on the planet Rúben Dias likely the best left footed CB on the planet (or soon will be) Josko Gvardiol best DMF on the planet (Rodri) best AMF on the planet (when he is healthy) De Bruyne best CF on the planet (and 2nd best player after Mbappe) Håland and also, when they play together, the best best defensive (not offensive) PAIR of fullbacks on the planet in Aké and Akanji Edited August 11, 2023 by Vesper

Such scintillating football -.- Burnley, Nottingham, Luton, Brentford, Brighton, Fulham, Sheffield, Bournemouth, Wolves. This is 9 teams that all played Championship in the last 6 years. Not sure this happened before. If you add Palace who lost best players and Everton which is shambles for years this is 11 teams against which you could win 66 points in a season potentially. Sometimes this is enough for CL. Really no excuse for Pochettino to lose lots of points against these lot if any. WH is closer to this bracket as well. Losing Rice and possibly Paqueta plus European football... I see Brighton and Fulham losing the edge from previous season and Brentford without Toney. Big 6 plus Newcastle and Aston Villa are top8. And we don't have a European football so really CL place should not be questioned at all.
robsblubot 3,595
and yet they will get beaten this season. They won't win again, at least not the CL. KDB not being healthy is already hurting them a lot. They missed him against Inter, but got lucky the other side relied on someone like Lukaku to win matches. Inter had the intensity, but not the quality to hurt them.

Season 18/19 they won the league with 98 points. KDB contribution was close to zero, played just 974 mins.

Pizy 19,374
Brighton were just awarded one of the softest pens I’ve ever seen. Joao Pedro dives, cons the ref into giving it, and then somehow the VAR doesn’t overturn the decision.
