Brilliant move from Mou - to talk so open about a bid, putting pressure on Moyes and Man Utd. Ever if we not get him we pretty much safe in numbers as he already said, while they are losing one of star players. This early comments from Moyes was a disaster.

I have not spoke to one United fan yet unhappy at the thought of him leaving to a title rival.

Says it all.

that's because they cant believe their luck with Chelsea coming in likely offering stupid amounts of money for an unsettled player who is going to be nothing but a PROBLEM for them this coming season.

a player soon to be 28 who peaked years ago, now on the decline with a history of fitness & injury issues.

I clinge to the small hope of our bid only being intended to unsettle Rooney and United further which would be a nice start to Mourinho's mind games with Moyes. If not then the fact that they seemed to have leaked false info to the press (Mata, Luiz swap deal) along with the ridiculous figure they would want for a straight cash deal should put us off if Mou et cet. look at it in a sensible way.

Jose's words - 'We don't want to make public the bid but it is just a certain amount of money and it doesn't involve players or players in the possibility of negotiation. No Juan Mata, no David Luiz.'

Why'd he go out there if he knew they were bidding for players and would need to come back? He has left simply to negotiate a players exit. Simple.

like a really big echo

I honestly give up now.Jose wants the striker and if he wants him then who am I to dispute on the matter.I have no problem with the player but his wages are the only concern for me but since Roman doesn't see it as a problem, those few like me who are against this move shouldn't really care either.

Its all up to Rooney now, such an opportunity may not come again for him.To be able to play for a top manager and that too in the premier league while continuing to earn high wages just won't happen.

MOURINHO ON ROONEY BID

Posted on: Wed 17 Jul 2013

Following Wednesday's win against Singha All-Stars in Bangkok, Jose Mourinho spoke about a bid made by Chelsea to sign Wayne Rooney.

The Chelsea manager confirmed that a written offer to Manchester United for the transfer of the striker had been made but that no other players are part of the offer.

'Chelsea is interested in this player, made a bid and what we did we did officially,' Mourinho said.

'Now we have nothing more to say, we want the player, we made the bid and now it is up to Man United.

'We don't want to make public the bid but it is just a certain amount of money and it doesn't involve players or players in the possibility of negotiation. No Juan Mata, no David Luiz.'

Mourinho added that he did not know Man United's response to the bid.

'Now I keep trying to improve my players and we will see what happens.

'From me no more comments with respect to Man United, my colleague David Moyes and my players.

'I trust my players and I am happy with them and in this bid I want to be respectful.'

Forget him and go for Yilmaz or (i can't believe im saying this) Suarez. A mix of im that desperate not to see us sign Rooney and i don't want to see Arsenal's side strengthened means im breaking the previous stance i had on Suarez.

Can't see the 20m figure being quoted being accurate if we won't improve the offer. We can't possibly think they'd sell him for that.

Think the 28m story is more believable.

When was the last time we put an article on the official website to say we're trying to sign someone? It's a done deal to me, just my humble opinion, don't shoot me.

:shoot:

I just did. :Goober:
