Interesting, perplexing, intrigueing, etc.

"I think he [Rooney] is at a fantastic age for a player: maturity, big experience, still young. It's up to him and what he wants, what makes him happy. He's a little bit like me: he doesn't need one more pound in his contract. One more cup won't make a different. Be happy. Where is he happy? Where will he find more happiness to have ambition and drive him? I like him as a boy. I wish him well and hope he is happy."

When did he actually say this? Anyway 'happiness' seems to be getting used a lot by him now and I'm really glad. It's a good mindset to be in and will rub off on the players definitely.

After unveiling, i guess he'd also have to talk to papers.

Really don't understand why people don't rate Rooney. Dude is class (as a Centre forward).

I think it's an English thing. We tend to criticise success, especially if people like Rooney achieve it because he's a bit less intelligent than is acceptable. We tried to do the same to Beckham after the World Cup in 98 but he rebounded and is pretty much teflon now. Honestly, I'm sure there's a reason why he gets so much shit but at the moment I'm really not sure what it is.

I've said it before on here but a fit and motivated Rooney could be the best striker in Europe and we could get 5 great years out of him whilst blooding Lukaku (Rooney also offers the option to move back into the number 10 position and play them both), all at half the price that we're looking to spend on Cavani.

I reckon leaving the PL and trying to work his way through another league would be a good step for Rooney.

He needs a change of scenery...not sure if a move to Chelsea would actually help him.
