Went to the Middlesbrough friendly with Bordeaux yesterday it was an invite from a corporate company a mate of mine works for, afterwards was having a beer in the bar area when in walked Ross Turnbull, I've known Ross for a few years now and managed to catch up with him yesterday. I asked him how he enjoyed it here with us to which he explained he loved it and was greatful for the chance to play for such a massive team etc. I asked him about Rooney, he said with 100 percent confidence we will get him, no doubt. He said he spoke with Jose only last week and Jose said to him "it was a matter of time" before we got Rooney.

Just thought I would share with you what was said.

Getting Rooney to play him as CAM makes no sense to me. I bet Mourinho has promised him a starting position as a striker. Frankly we've got enough attacking mids in the squad to form two teams.

Besides Rooney is not a very good CAM IMO.

The main reason he wants out of United is because he doesn't want to play behind the striker.

If he comes here he's playing as a #9. Can certainly see he and Lukaku playing together up top plenty of times depending on the opposition and situation.

we have enough players for CAM , his only role is striker and only striker , dont think we'll ever shift him to a number 10, with the likes of MAZACAR ready to fill the void, even KDB too
