When the topic of Josh McEachran starting gets brought up for more creativity, it brings a bit of a mixed response without doubt a class act, some feel he is ready but some would rather slowly bed him into the 1st team.

So im going to list what (to me) are the pros and cons of blooding Josh regually now.

Pros

- He is chomping at the bit, was our best player at the stade veledrome (one of the most intimidating stadiums in europe), dictated the play in our 7-0 win over Ipswich and ive personally never seen any-one take a game by the scruff off the neck like he did against Newcastle in the carling cup.

- When he has played he has got something like a 91% pass sucess rate.

- He plays like he is in his mid 20's.

- Has great strenth despite his small frame, ever seen him bullied off the ball?

Cons

- There have been so many early burn out's with players that have played loads at teens (Owen the main example Rooney is heading that way too if he aint carefull).

- He has made a couple of mistakes this season, at Villa park lost the ball and nearly lost the game and against Zilina lost his marker (when he gets older he wont make those mistakes but what if he makes 1 against Utd and cost's us points?).

- If he plays alot and gets a injury that could halt his progress.

4 pros and 3 cons i can think off, what is your view? do you think McEachran should be starting or pushing to start and why?

He's too young, he should not hurry. Josh should be patient, we've got many experienced midfielders in our squad and he can't be a regular starter just like that.

He's still only 17, give the lad more time. As time passes, he will find a place in the team.

He controls the ball very well and he has vision, creative midfielder imo. And he's English too, which is very good for the future.

He has great composure on the ball and good vision, but i've not seen enough creativity from him in the final third of the pitch, because every time he plays, he plays in the holding role. Not necessarily a bad thing, as he can create time on the ball for himself from nothing and always looks to play it simple. To me, it seems Carlo is using him as either a deep lying playmaker or a holding midfielder.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him given the opportunity to influence the play from right behind the strikers, it just looks to me like Carlo thinks this is too much pressure to put on a 17 year old.

Not exactly every game, but he definitely deserves to be involved more in the first team. However, I just wish his chances won't look like 'he got 10 mins, he got 15 mins, he got 5 mins'. If he is given the chance, give it to him properly. And at the same time, playing him as a holding midfielder is not the best solution either. Okay he would play but he could offer us much more if he played on his preferred position.

Just because he's 17, doesn't mean he shouldn't be given his chances. If he's good enough, play him.

Lukaku's 17, why doesn't everyone knock him?

Lukaku is two times bigger than Josh, you silly.

Imo Josh isn't ready yet to be involved more.

If you campare him and Wilshere, you can see that Jack is much more mature, but of course he is older year or two.

Well he couldn't of been much worse than Lampsard yesterday. He's only 17 yes, but hes so calm and composed on the ball, he doesn't even look nervous when he comes on and that's the sign of someone who will be brilliant in the future. Been drafted into the England U21's apparently, can't wait to see him there.

He will be quality when his time comes.

Doesn't matter if he's small. We've seen him take on 3 guys and still come out with the ball, he doesn't panic. He's intelligent enough to use the movement of the ball and his feet to play through such blockades.

Messi is tiny, but that doesn't stop being a superstar. I'm not comparing Messi to McEachran, I'm saying being "big" isn't everything.

I think that since we have nothing more to lose in the Premier League, we might as well play him. At this moment in time he offers more to the team than Mikel does, and I'd prefer to see him alongside Lampard, or as the holding midfielder with Ramires and Lamps ahead of him.

If he doesn't start against Everton a week on Saturday, Carlo better sort himself out.

Messi is short, but he is a strong man on the other side Josh is just a teenager who is still growing up and whoose body is going through phases.

He played quite a lot of games, don't you think? And he has improved very much since his first seniour game against Palace.

Overplaying imo would only harm his development.

Yeah, well I'm not saying he should start every game. But hey, why not give him 70minutes at Fulham? It couldn't hurt his development, and he'd pick up a ton of experience..

You know he won't

Eldo has a valid point. As much as you all, I'd like to see Josh do great things for the club, but everything must come gradually, he must earn a spot not just storm in as a boy wonder. He is 17 and not the bulkiest, and strength is something you need in EPL. As fragile as our state is atm, we better not start experimenting with youngsters. At the moment, im more than sure that experienced players will come more handy. I agree on Josh having a great technique and all that but let's say he makes a big mistake that costs us the game, he will be shattered - physically and mentally , grats thats one less potential star for Chelsea.

I think for this season getting runouts and living into the first team squad will do, perhaps give just a bit more playing time , but other than that i think he is coming along just great. The next season is another story and im sure he will get more regular playing time. Just be patient, because in the end of the day - less is more. KTBFFH

You've changed your tune.:whistling:

We'll be chasing Evertons shadows and being over run again. Carlo probably thought we did well so will stick with it.

He needs a loan like Jack Wilshere did for a whole season were he plays week in week out, he can not play week in week out for us it will damage him. At Bolton Jack Wilshere did not need to worry about making mistakes and he learned a lot, a bit like what Danny is doing at Bolton. I want Josh to go on loan for the whole of next season with someone like Sunderland, look at what they have done with Danny Welbeck !
