Honestly I hope we get another striker, don't think Cavani would ideally be the right guy though hes not gonna want to sit on the bench or play wide because its pretty easy to see Costa is our main striker. Someone like Loic Remy would be better and much cheaper and ideally you couldn't imagine he would demand a starting place either.

Right now the major difference between cavani and costa is, edinson has more of a track record. Doesn't mean he's better just he's a little more proven.

I don't think the time to hit the panic button and sign another stud cf. put our faith in costa and give him every chance to succeed.

Problem being that after Costa it becomes thread bare, and I mean that with no disrespect to Drogba at all, and well errr we know what Torres is. Injuries and suspensions can happen but IMO there is a huge issue with our back up options. I mean we don't know exactly how Costa will do, he could be a flop, nobody knows at all for sure. I just feel we must some how, or some way get shot of Torres and bring in someone else.

I agree. And whilst on paper our new purchases look superb and I am delighted with them so far this pre-season, the striker problem could be the area that could cost us winning the league/anything this season IMHO.

Cavani won't come when Mourinho already got the striker he wants, very naive to think it could happen. Off course it's always great to have great players but we're not in the need for another high profile striker. Bony could be a very good option imo, through it seems we'll stay with Torres.

Man City have Aguero, Dzeko, Jovetic and Negredo. All world class strikers, we should be able to have at least 2 world class strikers in our team so I don't think it's naive. Bony would be great though I agree.

Yep, that's exactly the depth I am on about. You need top quality back up because you aren't just worried about suspensions etc but it's a 60 odd game season.

We cannot, cannot believe that our back ups are adequate, we need someone else of quality and ship that twat Torres out.
