I don't think that but without Rossi he is feeding off scraps.

Not buying into that. IF he is really that good, he should be able to work with others and it's not like Villarreal don't have other quality players around him to work with.

Nilmar's not that great of a striker...he doesn't look like someone that will be effective without ALOT of service from the midfield.

For all that type of reasoning, there is Cahill to make you think otherwise. :D

But in all honesty I still think Villareal got some good players in Nilmar, De Rossi, Marco Ruben, and Borja Valero.

Especially De Rossi, he will be the player to follow this transfer window.

Rossi not De Rossi.

Nonetheless there are some players still to consider.

I'm still keen on Canales despite him being injured this season.

That boy seems like a young Silva.....weather he can fulfill his potential is to be determined, but still good player.

And giving that I want Canales, can't forget some of the players of Valencia. They should have one or two players we can look at.

Definitely would love to have Valero. Cristian Zapata is pretty good, too.

Still can't get over the relegation. The bottom 5 teams had GD's in the -20s except Villarreal (-14). 7th place Osasuna had a worse GD.

  • 2 weeks later...

Stats are there mate. 6 games when this one is over. 6 games without a goal for the team. Thats shocking.

Every team goes through a rough patch in a season and you can't judge a player that way just because the team are performing poorly.

At a vital time though, It shows that there the sort of player to go into hiding, instead of taking the game by the scruff of the neck and making something happen (i.e Drogba)

Maybe you should actually go take a deeper look into Bilbao's season before jumping to such conclusions.

Didn't Bilbao just get a bit tired?

Yup. They don't really have a big squad and Bielsa hardly rotates them. Had a long compaign with the Europa League included and it didn't exactly help them either with the fact that they play a high energy pressing, attacking game under Bielsa.
