The only place to be 11,313
As I said, I dont deny he might be good. But I cannot see him EVER being a starter for us. Maybe low-mid table high PL team in a year or so.I honestly think its the bolded part that makes us talk so high of this guy. Had he not been a Chelsea product we wouldnt even look at him. There are plenty of good young players we're not linked with, especially at big clubs. There's no doubt he's struggled with making the transition to first-team football, but he's still only 19 and a small 19 year old at that. Look at someone like Cleverley - he didn't make the United first team regularly until he was 22, yet now he's seen as an England fixture for years to come despite him being wildly overrated in my opinion.Josh still has a lot of growing to do yet he's established himself as a first-teamer in a team pushing for promotion. Who knows what he could do in two years?Completely true, totally agree @YouNameIt - if he wasn't from our youth academy would we be linked with Josh? No, I don't deny he's good on the ball but he's not a class talent for me, I hope he proves me wrong and becomes a starter for us I just can't see it though. We've never been linked with Wilshere, but I think he could be a decent player. There are certainly question marks over Josh but I'd say a lot of those are to do with his physicality. He needs to grow and learn to assert himself in games, but those are things he can work on. Where Josh excels are in the things that you can't usually learn.
DH1988 1,348
Thats not true at all, we were linked with Wilshere sometime before his Arsenal debut, we offered him (apparently) £100,000 a year to come to us when he was 16!I really dont agree with the Wilshere hype, he's a good player but he's not everything Arsenal has built him up to be, I do enjoy his passion for his club and he definitely is more physical than Josh. He's a great little player though.
Mceachran 109
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I suppose. But could you imagine what it would be like to have a player int he CENTER of the park who could dictate the tempo and start attacks. I just think if we were brave and played players like him in a few more first team games next season the doubters could really see where his talents lie. And who ever made themselves a star from just being a passer? Are you f***ing kidding me!? Finally, I think Wilshere is class and I wish we had him or an older Josh in the middle of our park. And please don't think I'm some hardcore Mceachran fan who is blind to any criticism, there is plenty to be had for him and his not hitting full capabilities; I just used him as a login to show a little love
Severinb 309
Look at his defending he has improved a lot and if given the chance I am 100% sure we will be a chelsea starter in 2-3 years..His passing is just crazy good you could think he is spanish. Santiago. 1,500
Hopefully Mourinho develops him into a Legend just how he did to LampardAnd for those he say he will never be good enough, don't nearly watch him enough and to claim such an irrational statement. bushman 2,043
Sorry boys, I just have a funny feeling this kid will not make Chelsea´s squad next season again. The club will buy a better player for the midfield in the summer.
Hamilton 2,120
KDB probably is allready ahead in the picking order??
bushman 2,043
KDB is way better, I feel. I believe Chelsea is buying 1 or 2 players to reinforce the midfield.
Mufassir08 2,400
The thing is KDB is also very good as a no#10 and a winger so we could fit him and josh in the same team aswell plus this season we are learning the hard way that you will win fuck all without having a strong squad, having options is always a good thing. CHOULO19 24,332
I don't get it. What's the point of writing him off already? Especially that he's one good game away from going from a lower PL team player to the next Iniesta. In the past year, Bertrand has gone from being much worse than PVA and having no future here, to the next Ashley Cole and back to being shit and turning into the scapegoat whenever we lose. Luckily the club's staff are not as fickle as us fans. Rmpr and OReillyD36

bushman 2,043
Nobody is writing him off. I just feel, he will not make it, next year. Then on the other hand anything can happen, who knows for sure.If Chelsea aims to sing players like Falcao, Cavani, Fellaini, Paulino I do not see Josh around much. ja1 1,166
Haha, you calling me a cunt!?Look at Luiz. One of the nicest fellas in world football. Doesn't stop him from kneeing Rooney in the gut.Even Mata has had a bit of a naughty streak recently, noticed a few dirty looks from his more often than not perfect head. Luckily the club's staff are not as fickle as us fans. This is the same for many young players.Lukaku can go from next Drogba to waste of money to next Drogba again in a few matches. (Well this one has been longer term really, the waste of money comments came around last season).Bertrand as you said.Romeu gone from being so good Barce may buy him back to pretty overrated(pre injury).Sturridge from one of our best young talents to shït, now most people would take him back.In reality they're all good, young players with the potential to become starters, if not already there. fAnta 107
Hope to see josh take lampards place eventually. wilshere and mceachran would be good for england too. Cleverly is just like Milner he offers very little and these two can be great for club and country.
BowtiesAreCool 16
So how has Josh played in his last few games? I really want to see him score goals now, he might never be a Lampard-esque scorer but adding goals to his game would make him freakin' deadly.
