Tomo 21,751
He needs to ne used in situations that actually suit him, hes ideal as a squad player. So basically when we are playing 4 3 3 or are defending a lead then Rami would come in useful. When we are chasing games he should seldom be on unless tje midfields tired and the oppo gaffer is some stubborn idiot who refuses to sit back. The Skipper 20,609
According to MARCA, Mou would possibly like Varane included in any possible Ramires deal (but he doesn't want to sell Ramires): Ancelotti wants Ramires, and Ramires wants Ancelotti. All that's needed now for the Brazilian and the Italian to join forces again is for Real Madrid and Chelsea to come to an agreement, but that won't be easy. Ramires is currently in Teresópolis with the rest of the Brazil squad, but he's not so far away that he can't hear the rumours linking him with a move to Madrid. MARCA had the opportunity to speak with him after the Croatia game, and although he declined to make any direct comments about a possible transfer to 'Los Blancos', he did send out smoke signals to Carlo Ancelotti, who he defined as one of the most important managers in his career. "Ancelotti is a special coach for me, and I really appreciate him. He helped me a lot when I arrived at Chelsea and he was very important in helping me adapt to my position as a central midfielder. He's a very good coach", said the player. Florentino Pérez is already convinced about signing the Brazilian, and there's little doubt that Ramires himself would be happy to play for Carlo Ancelotti again. The problem now lies in negotiations with Chelsea and Mourinho, who are against letting him go. In Madrid they understand that negotiations will be very complicated and that one of Mourinho's possible requests if Ramires were to leave would be that Varane would travel in the opposite direction. The Portuguese is keen on the French centre-back joining him at Stamford Bridge. Edit: Mourinho has basically ruled out any sort of move in an interview with MARCA anyway...: However, Mourinho has closed the door on an exit by the Brazilian midfielder and mooted a hands-off agreement of sorts with 'Los Blancos'. "They know that Ramires is not leaving, but they also know that I'm not interested in any Real Madrid players. Varane and Khedira? I reiterate that I'm not interested in any Real players, and that's the end of the matter."
Jase 43,479
Selling Ramires is just plain silly, unless it's like for like and a 'better' version of him. The idea of a swap for Modric may sound tempting but in our squad, we need variation of players. Not more similar or same ones and Ramires currently offers things that other players do not. Fernando 6,585
I knew that already. Mourinho likes ramires too much. Let's hope he doesn't put him on when we have to face the west ham of this world. :-\
BleedsBlue 1,549
Ramires may not be the most elegant type of player but his work rate and 100 percent commitment on both halves of the pitch will be something which the team will need. His energy and versatility will really help us next season. Not more similar or same ones and Ramires currently offers things that other players do not. What does he offer that other players do not? That argument was valid two years ago. The work rate and stamina of this team has drastically changed since Mou came back. We have a very energetic team, the signing of Costa and Luis will further add to that. He was very valuable when we had a less mobile dm in mikel and Lampard old legs. While our forwards like Mata and Sturridge did little off the ball(defensively). This side doesn't need Ramires, the only argument is we need a replacement. There is Tiago who is available for free or Paulinho for a fraction of Ramires transfer sale. He would be much more useful to Madrid and a better fit. lionsden and Peace.

BleedsBlue 1,549
Today France will be in action and Pogba will probably start this one, so anyways if he has a good game then please do not criticise Ramires by saying that we should have the young Frenchman instead.Ramires will stay here and I highly doubt our club will spend 40m+ on him or that Juventus will even sell him. We can not always get the young talents.

Just because we suddenly have a team that has good workrate and stamina, doesn't mean all the players have turned into Ramires!I view Ramires in a similar mould to Essien. Great workrate, stamina and energy. We need players like that to complement the technical players within the team. We basically need a water carrier and Ramires is that as he has a specific skill set that not many others have. Like The Skipper alluded to above, it's almost as if people have a short term memory loss or something. Had Ramires been playing like he did before last season, nobody would have wanted him sold but because he's had one-half of rubbish season, people want him out already. Anybody who have seen Ramires at his best would know what he can do and gives to the team. Those who questioned are basing it only on his performances last season. And I'm sorry, if anyone thinks Paulinho or even Tiago(a 33-year old player!) is an upgrade of sorts on Ramires, then that's quite frankly laughable. Mourinho will be too conservative in big matches. We won't go all attacking so he is needed in maybe a 3 man midfield of Ramires, Matic and Fabregas.
