My stream suddenly switched to Malaga vs Valencia right after the Lampard goal so I didnt catch Drogba's injury , hope its not serious because the squad is stretched as it is.

Vast improvement from Chelsea , what I liked in particular was that there was a ruthless edge to our play , I liked that players were fully commited into challenges and heck I liked the Pompy fans singing " 2-0 to the referee " cos when those sort of chants are going up you know your team is on to something. There looked to be a better balance to the side without Anelka's roaming slowing the build up play down, Joe Cole looked lively when he came on and I really hope he can keep that up for the rest of the season, Malouda is a sure fire bet for best left winger in the league, 2 more goals and an assist for Drogba. Cech was a calming presence at the back and Van Aanholt didnt look out of place at all when he came on.

Though I am gonna have to stick a few negatives in here. Carvalho's injury, why are we forsaken with such an injury list to key players? Though it was good to see Ancelotti put his faith in Sturridge by starting him it didnt lead to a good performance from Sturridge. While the game was competitve, Deco was nowhere to be found, simply put you cannot rely on this man. Mikel gave away his customary few fouls but all in all had a good game.

Good win, nice way to get us back on track, great for goal difference, roll on Villa at the weekend.

This is a massive confidence booster, but we all know the real test come in the next game against villa, and if we play like how we did in the first half we stand no chance. Villa are no Portsmouth and they have a defense that is almost impossible to breach at the moment. So lets celebrate this win n hope for the best!

there is a lot of people here who knows nothing about football ... that zolayes is for sure one of them ......

yes we have improved from the last couple of matches but we weren't good ..... i swear to god if i go with some friends of mine who are just amateurs we well get a 4-0 or a 5-0 scoreline against portsmouth ....

we were facing a team who is not only the worst team in the league but he have no hope to stay there as well what do you expect of them specially after the injury of two players .....

when the team is bad just say it there is no shame in it ...... and when we are good we who you call moaners will be there supporting cheering more than anyone else but we will still be looking for more and more improvement .....

Good game,we finally looked like a team that wants to win.

Lamps and Drogba deserved more goals.

Kinda confused about Joey's performance,he did run around a lot but he was nowhere as effective as Malouda.

Didn't see much from Van Aanholt apart from some short passes and a few mistakes.

It was Portsmouth so there's nothing to be really excited about hope we can be half as good against Villa.

The ref had a good performance, too. I wasn't expecting a yellow card to be given to O'Hara for that shirt-pulling on Deco, tbh. It's about time we get fair decisions.

Especially considering Villa's last consecutive 3 draws in the league we need to smash em into the ground

I can understand where you're coming from but we can build on this result and before the game did it REALLY look like we were going to score 5 today? in all honesty this was going to be a draw or a loss when thinking about our recent away games (or just since we beat arsenal maybe?)

Pompey are a team with no fear anymore and that's how they got the result last week so we had to be on our toes

I'm happy that the team went out in the 2nd half with the correct mentality and the desire to win which has certainly been lacking lately and when they have that they can actually play.

Good subs made today and interesting game vs Villa now but we have to hope for the best, no1 will get ahead of theirselves surely
