Kojo 4,676
I would have thought so as well.I just don't understand how even one person nevermind ten can say that Di Matteo doesn't deserve the job. When he took over, and someone told you, if he won the F.A Cup and won the Champions League would you want to give him the job?, i am sure the person who asked that would have no hand left. I think a lot of the indecisiveness from some members here stems from the fact that we have been very lucky in his tenure. While that is a valid point, that he got the players to perform somewhere near their best should be enough to convince everybody.

To not give him the the job next season is criminal it really is, he did everything he could, we didn't lose one cup game with him so we won all our cups and we lost 3 league games, one against city when we were 1-0 up, one against Newcastle when our players were tired and we were resting some for F.A Cup final, then against Liverpool when we played our reserve team.He even got us a point away against Arsenal and we where the better team and should of had a penalty and we had our b team playing. He's won the players over, very few times that's happened at Chelsea, he needs the job, he did better than Hiddink and we where buzzing over him like you said, and Hiddink had better players. YOUTH! FRENCH! YOUNG FRENCHMEN! (In Robbie's case it would be Italians)He could be like Fat 'Arry. BARGAINS! BARGAINS! GOOD LAD!He could be like Rafa. BUY EVERYONE! EVERYONE! FACTS!He could be like Pep. HERE IS ALL THE MONEY I HAVE FOR A PLAYER I DON'T NEED!Or he could be like Jose. Jose Mourinho. The best at transfers. cujo101 75
Is it me or are Chelsea's upper management a fucking joke? I watched Ron Gourlay last night on tv and one word came to mind: Mug. After all time to not have a resolution for RdM is a joke. If Roberto is offered a one year contract (waiting in vain for PG), he should tell them to piss off. The treatment he's had from the club is a disgrace and all this shit about style of football, can't attract players, can't rebuild the squad? Oh, let's get Fabio Capello or Harry Redknapp! This is so embarrassing. Roberto and Eddie (two former players that love the club) guide the team to the Champions League and they get treat like shit.Thank you very much boys, (now fuck off).(unofficial Chelsea statement)
Sheva. 5,373
I'd be happy with him getting a 1 year deal, if he does well next season then he can get an extension. But he just simply has to be our manager next season, no one else!
xPetrCechx 13,573
CHELSEA players were left close to tears before their Champions League triumph by a secret video compiled on the orders of manager Roberto Di Matteo.http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4328537/Chelseas-secret-video-ahead-of-Champions-League-final-win.html

Jype 6,398
I'd be happy with him getting a 1 year deal, if he does well next season then he can get an extension. From the club's point of view that would indeed be the ideal scenario and if he doesn't live up to expectations then he could just leave next summer and we wouldn't have to go through the pain of sacking the manager who won us our first Champions League trophy. Don't see any reason for Di Matteo to agree such arrangement though. He has already proved to be a capable manager for us and if that's not enough for the Chelsea board to hire him on a contract of at least two seasons then it's our loss and he can just go somewhere else. I'm sure many top clubs in Italy would love to hire the latest Champion of Europe as their manager.
BleedsBlue 1,549
If RDM doesn't win the EPL or Champions League then he is going to get sacked. He'll need to pull of something spectacular once again to change Roman's mind of appointing Pep as our next manager.Roman won't be content with winning the other 5 trophies. cujo101 75
Is RA going to allow PG to have time (2/3 years) and total control of the club? Don't think so. No deal. Waste of time.

Henrique 9,133
Hey, 4 days since we won UCL. RDM still not our manager for next season. What they are waiting for?Whos better than him right now? IMO he must get the job, but after all these years, I think its stupid to give him more than one year, because we already know these deals doesnt mean the manager is staying for 3 or 4 years, it means he will get a huge amount of money when he gets the axe.If he makes a good job next season, no reason to give him one more, and so on.Thats worked pretty well for Guardiola in Barcelona, no reason to not work here.
