Ryan Fong 2,776
Matic better watch out. Chalobah could be a late bloomer... I start losing patience with Matic, still playing like a headless chicken game after game. Clumsy is the most suitable word to describe his performance. dimmas

Because he's dropped form significantly over the last year and a half. Now last season is a bit exacerbated but what concerns me is that his form was declining from the season before. He hasn't had consecutive top seasons yet in his career if I'm not wrong. He had 1 excellent season at Benfica, two halves of excellent seasons here, and the rest of his career has either been distinctively average or bad. Is that Matic we saw an anomaly or not? I guess we'll find some answers this season... Ryan Fong, The Chels and OhForAGreavsie
Popular Post! CHOULO19 24,332 Posted July 31, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted July 31, 2016 Making a real claim to be part of our first team this season. Good for him. He's always had a lot of potential but the over hyping, particularly during his time Watford, set him back a bit. Happy to see him keep his head down and work hard to get into the team rather than go down the McEachran road.. OhForAGreavsie 6,075
I have long held the opinion that Nate wasn't going to make it here and have said so often enough but his Toulon form was an eye opener for me. It is great to see that he has brought that form into the preseason. If Antonio is now considering him seriously as a first choice option then Nate would be the answer to a long standing question in another thread: The Next Chelsea Captain. If Nate is good enough to hold down a place then he'll be an almost automatic choice to inherit the armband; he's an outstanding skipper. When his confidence is high, he walks onto a footbball pitch like he owns the place. He captained every age group side through the academy and as far as could be told from watching the games his teammates respected him as their natural leader. Doesn't get much more Chels than Nate also.

Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
Couldn't catch the game... But Chelsea Twitter was praising him again. Lots of people saying Chalobah-- Kante in Midfield was a complete 180 from what was happening before. How well did he play? Would be amazing if he forced Conte to play him, and displaced Matic. Even just 10mins ish he has already out-performed Matic by a continent miles! What he has showed was calm, nimble, excellent pass instead of Matic's headless chicken clumsy performance. And yes I'm too in the bandwagon of Kante & Chalobah combo. Unionjack, kellzfresh, !Hazard! and 4 others
Ryan Fong 2,776
Maybe I'm irrational right now, but fuck it, sell Matic to Juve to trade someone, even Lichtsteiner would be a good one. Chalobah is more than capable to replace him.

Melanicus 5,208
Its pretty clear that we're a better team when Chalobah is on the pitch. He absolutely deserves to start against West Ham, long term starter or not, he’s better than Matic and Fabregas right now at least. Kante-Chalobah is the way to go. Popular Post! LondonsFinest 692 Posted August 4, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted August 4, 2016 Is it just me, or would a midfield three of Kante, Fabregas, Chalobah be SO good. Maybe Nathaniel is a late bloomer or just works hard for the team. But, it would be ideal to see them like that. At least, if the first two play to their usual standars and the other keeps his good performances coming. kellzfresh, The Chels, Unionjack and 2 others
The Skipper 20,609
Yeah. I want to see a Fabregas - Chalobah - Kante midfield as well. Unionjack, LondonsFinest, The Chels and 1 other
Ryan Fong 2,776
Yeah. I want to see a Fabregas - Chalobah - Kante midfield as well. Do you think Conte sees what we see? Do you think he has the guts to drop Matic for Chalobah? I sincerely hope so, hope he is somewhat different from previous managers.

I sincerely hope so, hope he is somewhat different from previous managers. I think he's thinking about it. But he also wants to probably give Matic a chance to build up his confidence. If Matic still doesn't perform, hopefully he'll start blooding in Nate properly. I've always believed in Nathaniel's talent, and I really hope his time has finally come because the kid is proper Chels and is a proper natural leader. We severely lack players like that at the moment. Ryan Fong, kellzfresh and Beigl
Unionjack 7,531
I know its very early and this last couple of weeks will be the 1st Contes heard on Nath but I'm sure he's rubbing his hands to find a great young player. And to see how well he's working with N'Golo will get him smiling. But at the same time you Know Conte will be worried about our lack of creativity at times. Cescy, not being the fastest, is always better given time and space to do his stuff so keeping him in deep pocket is his place. But N'Golo last night in that 4-1-4-1 he played great. So theres got to be some formation we can use those 3 and keep 2 up front.

His passing game is fantasic but it just isn't enough with his tackling and tracking game being soo weak. have Kante in the middle and Matic and Chalobah pressing either side of him! kellzfresh
