Chelsea face Reading at the Madejski Stadium as they continue to prepare for the new Premier League Season.

The last time the two teams met here, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba found the net to give Chelsea a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Steve Coppell's side. Now managed by former reserve team boss Brendan Rodgers, the squad will be keen to put one over their former ally.

This one should be a very good game. I would expect us to start with a side pretty much exactly what Ancelotti will field against United in the CS. It will be the last chance before things get serious for Carlo to have a good look at his players.

I'm not going, still gonna boo the cunt though. I'm not sure how many people are aware, but Cech's injury was a depressed fracture of the skull. This occurs only when significant pressure is applied to a part of te skull, fracturing the bone into many pieces. When the injury is a depressed fracture, parts of the bone point downwards towards the soft tissue of the brain, and in some extreme cases, the bone can pierce the dura matter of the brain, which is a layer of tissue that forms part of the brain itself and acts as a protective cover. This happened with Cech, but fortunately the injury "only" left him with pressure on the brain, and this means the bone can be removed and be allowed to grow back. In simple terms, Hunt caused Cech what turns out to be mild brain damage. Cech was taken to Reading General immediately and went through an emergency operation. I've studied this in Biology, and from what I can remember, a depressed skull fracture can cause so much pressure that it can kill as soon as 8 hours after the injury. He's very lucky to be alive. Hunt almost killed him. Whether it was an accident or not, Cech was knocking on Death's door, and that's something I and no other Chelsea fan will forgive him for.

Who's going then? Can't wait biggrin.gif

Me! Wanted to go to one pre-season game, and there was none better than this one. Ticket was a fiver, doesn't get better than that.

To the people going, are you gonna boo Hunt?

No, well at least I say that now.

Hope we win by a good few goals, would be nice to remind Brendan what he's missing.

I doubt he's regretting moving from being the manager of Chelsea reserves to (ending up at) Reading, a team knocking on the door of the Premier League.

Accidents happen, It was clearly an accident so leave him ffs.

I disagree with you. I believe Hunt did this on purpose. Surly not to cause that much of an impact to risk his life but enough to show he was there. If you watch the video he has so much time to get out of the way of cech. He would of jumped over him or even just run to the side but instead he put a knee down and went straight into cechs head. I will never forgive him for that. He deserves everything he gets!!!
