good performance overall. Game management and overall tactical and positional play improved throughout the tournament. Ppl may not like Enzoball, it is really not always pretty but you can’t deny the guy has a plan.

can’t see us beating real or psg save a miracle but we have played a great tournament overall, earned a ton of cash and hopefully gained a lot of following and fame in the US

Two weeks ago I was thinking we'd make the last sixteen, and crossing my fingers we might make the quarters. 🙂

Maresca's "smart thinking" against Flamengo helped us massively and allowed us to build up some real momentum. We can actually dream of making more history after a topsy turvy season.

I think we cant win against psg or real but at least we get a lot of money

we played the best (or 2nd best) team on the planet in 2012, ON THEIR HOME PITCH, and won the CL final

we played the best team on the planet in 2021 and won the CL final

so anything can happen

We were underdogs in both of our CL triumphs (massive ones in 2012). It's a position where we have thrived in the past.

I know we have played better opposition but Tosin and Chalobah have been immense at the back. Won everything and complimented each other well. Both athletic, fast and strong. I like it. Gusto was much assured this evening also. Caicedo does what Caicedo does and what a way for Pedro to announce himself. In the final we go!

This is verified? I listened to a podcast in which it was claimed that the Champions do NOT qualify automatically for 2029.

Wow! I just asked Copilot if the champions qualify for 2029 and in its response it quoted the post I just made. 😞

So much for AI taking over the world.

Copilot output:

No, the winners of the FIFA Club World Cup do not automatically qualify for the next edition of the tournament, including the 2029 edition.

🔍 Here’s what we know:

  • The 2029 FIFA Club World Cup will feature 32 teams and follow the expanded format introduced in 2025.

  • Qualification is based primarily on continental championships and historical performance, not on winning the previous Club World Cup.

  • For example, PSG or Inter were said to qualify for the 2029 edition based on their UEFA Champions League success, not Club World Cup results.

  • A discussion on a Chelsea fan forum even questioned whether the 2029 winners would qualify automatically, with one user stating they heard on a podcast that they do not.

So while winning the Club World Cup is prestigious, it doesn’t grant an automatic ticket to the next one. Qualification depends on contin

do not see why FIFA would change things from the once-every-4-years national teams World Cup, where the champions auto-qualify for the next one

it would be absolute bollocks if they took that away

Jackson is currently our third choice and he knows it. That worked perfectly tonight, Pedro with two, Delap is the one coming through and Palmer kicking off when he didn't square it, he's selfish and one dimensional...get the price for him and get rid

The loss against Flamengo could go down as the best loss in football history when you look at the fact if we win the tournament and the cash we make

Kompany did us a solid as well by underestimating Benfica. I feel like at that point, Bayern would have gotten the better of us.

It's effectively the WC for club teams, so this doesn't come as a surprise.
