Supermonkey92 1,428
#MCM. [emoji16] I think he fits who Chelsea are. I don't want to become Bayern and dominate possession and play what people want us to play like. I like a tough, rugged team that gets the job done. Counter attacking and tight defending is what i want because those players who fit that style are tough and have balls. Here here! Forget the artistry and elegance, I want thunder and lightning and the bridge. Never been happier than watching a high octane thriller. iseah100

Tomo 21,751
I dont see how so many think Simeone would be the best option. The way he sees football is very similar to Mourinho. I think we need a more flair manager right now.Probably because his Atletico sides are similar to Chelsea 04-07, strong defensively, brutally ruthless and hearts of lions.Plus I read Simeone thinks this squad needs an huge shift in playing staff, that alone makes him very tempting. Also unless these flair managers have some substance (like Pep) I don't want us going anywhere near them, we might get some fancy scores against relegation fodder but when I see Pellegrino, Wenger, Brendan attempt to take moral victories after losing to tactically superior managers it makes me cringe, if any manager does that with the Chelsea badge on their chest I think I'll lose the will too live. Sideshow Luiz 2,310
I'm a bit surprised that Hiddink is still doing his due diligence (good for him). But, I always thought that he and Roman were quite close, so I'm surprised that this wasn't all lined up before Jose was sacked.
robsblubot 3,595
have to confess I absolute hate interim managements! I believe in continuity in football and in that sense, interim is just a waste of time. Leif

I'm interested to see whether we buy anyone in January as that player would have to fit the style of the new manager next season..

ZOS 580
Try and take some time to watch of Atletico's game in the coming weeks, if you already haven't mate. What you will see is not just a great togetherness but a huge understanding of tactical balance with a great idea of blending attack with a really solid work ethic and attitude. I love watching Atleti over any of the other top boys in La Liga, they play with such a dynamic approach and one that isn't predictable but very, very efficient. I have huge respect for Simeone. Thanks for the reply. From what you say, I see there are some Jose components in his approach. I hope he's not too much like him when it comes to tactics... if he comes to us
ZOS 580
'Counter Attacking' has been so clichéd, its so annoying. Isn't it too dependent on situations to be considered as a main strategy? Especially for big teams? How do you counter attack teams that don't want to attack you in the first place?

Rumours have it that he's going to Swansea.

You can't give up possession when you are Chelsea and play West Ham or Bournemouth at the Bridge. It might win you the game by 1-0, but that's just a shameful thing to do. I understand the use of the counter attacking strategy when you are weaker than your opponent and you need to get a result. Like it was with us against Barcelona or Bayern. But your main strategy, as a big team, can never be counter attack.

Of course you should have faith in your players to break a team down but defences are better organised than ever even at the so-called weaker teams and this league is more competitive than ever. If you can exploit a team when they're in transition then why not do that? All the goals count the same.

MefiX19 1,092
We need to get Pep if Mou is going to Man U, because he would be motivated to shit on Mou's head by winning the title.
