Well, luckily none of us fans need to be paying that kind of money from our own pockets. However for a huge organization like Chelsea it's pocket change, being less than 1% of the club's yearly income. To put the figure into perspective, it's roughly the same equivalent for the club as chipping in a few hundred is for most of us regular folk.

Don't know about you, but I don't find it to be at all unreasonable to pay like €300 for something I really need in my life. For example my car maintenance yesterday cost twice that amount and I didn't think twice about paying it because it was something I just had to do, so why should the club worry about a mere few million if it's spent on something that helps the team perform better and thus bringing the company more money?

What makes Tolisso better than Mount or RLC? Nothing apart from having more experience playing at that level. This is why RLC and Mount need to be back at the club, training and playing with us. The same for Bailey, he has more experience than say Musonda or Hudson-Odoi, but is it better? I don't personally think so. Give our own youngsters the minutes he has had and they would likely have the same hype.

What makes Tolisso better than Mount or RLC? The fact hes proven himself at a much higher level, is an incredibly rounded footballer who has no significant weaknesses imo for a midfield player except for the defensive side of his game (although at Lyon he was very competent I thought regarding this). Lets not kid ourselves, I think RLC is an extremely overrated player and his season at Palace was by no means exceptional in any regard. If I could have one of them guys in my MF it would be Tolisso every single day of the week and anybody else who says otherwise is a fool. Mount is extremely promising as is Hudson-Odoi but you've mentioned Musonda in comparison to Bailey? Musonda is a show pony, he has no end product, he couldnt break into the Celtic team after they claimed "they fought off 20 teams to sign him".... lets not kid ourselves and say that he has shown anything good except a few brief flashes at Betis. also its worth mentioning him constantly acting like a petulant little child over social media when he wanted to play more etc ahead of guys streets ahead of him.

I'd be all for giving youngsters game time, Hudson-Odoi and Mount are two who I feel can be very very useful although Mount would benefit a lot if he got the loan move to Ajax which has been talked about apparently, they are one of the best teams in the world at progressing young players, but if the club or manager were offered Tolisso or Bailey? No brainers.

True but it would have to be paid from his pocket, that is what the whole thing is, thats why Conte never left Chelsea last summer because if he resigned he'd have to pay 9m to the club. Thats why he isn't resigning now because he will have to pay it. Fair enough he'd make it back by my point is a coach who is on a 1.5m euros a year salary or whatever Sarri is on, will not just throw 3m euros to a club who have already replaced him..

Jokanovic could work you know.

It wouldn't cost much to sack him anyway.

We have gone from looking at all the top managers in the world to one whp at his best put 2 teams into the PL and managed some Mickey Moise club to beat Basel FC!!

this is the level we are aiming at!

If they are going to pinch pennies, the cheapest option is to keep Conte.

But, they've gone too far down the road and fucked themselves.  Imagine Conte's first press conference?  I'd almost like to see him stay just to hear the amount of abuse he hurls at the board.

So, it's going to cost the club anyway, just get the one you actually want.  This is so ridiculous.  Spend 40M on Drinkwater, then sit here and let your number 1 managerial target get away over a few million.  FFS.

Bring in Big Sam, he would suit us fine..... but what would I know, I'm mad as a brush :blush: In all honesty our club seems to be in complete disarray. No direction at the moment. I never liked Emenalo and thought he was just there for the money, but we seem to be all at sea since he left. Sometimes be careful what you wish for.
