Sorry. Have no clue how to delete quotes so I had to post a blank message. I asked if there's a way in the Forum Update thread and got no answer.

When you hover above the quote box you should see a little square with four arrows inside. Left click on that and then press the delete or backspace button. That should work.

Neither of the Italian managers (Conte & Allegri) excite me at all. Just think they'd be in over their heads here and be gone within a year or two.

Honestky, if the choice is between those two and Pellegrini I'd have Pellegrini. At least he has great experience working with a to PL club and knows the ins and outs of English football.

Desperately want Simeone as my #1 choice. He'd make us competitors quickly and has the perfect personality.

and pellegrini would last longer than two seasons lol? they guy is unbearably boring and is chocking big time with by far the best squad in the league atm... no thanks

Maybe he wouldn't. I'd rather go with the known and proven than the unknown, though.

As for what he's doing this season I actually can't blame him too much. His best defender and captain has been injured or out all season and he's got can't-be-bothered half the time Yaya who is lazy and doesn't help the team.

Still think they'll win the league in the end.

Can someone tell me why Conte would be an ideal candidate. I know precious little about the man. Cheers!

Before conte went to Juventus they had previously come 7th two years in a row. He made Juventus dominate Italian football. They have won the league every year since.

I just went on a Juve forum to see what they were saying about Conte (they've got 105k members on there, yikes!) and noticed that there seems to be a divide. Whilst many are clearly not very fond of him, others are berating the lack of respect. Similar to the Mourinho discussions on here

Still remember the 3:0 defeat against his side, 3 goals, that's special for Conte, imo.
It seems that we don't know how to defend properly anymore, i think Conte is able to fix that, he is known for his defensive approach, scoring one and then keeping a clean sheet, leaving the field and ball to our opponent, shutting down the centre with his 3-5-2,
Zouma can be our Chiellini and clear most of the incoming crosses, he is capable of executing perfect defensive headers.
Furthermore Conte isn't afraid to stand up for his team, very emotional and not afraid to criticise the referee (take a look at the Benfica game), yes, but that's a good thing, imo.

I'm warming up to the idea of Conte taking over, yes, the moaning won't stop, because in my opinion the Italian won't play attacking football, but i like his style of play.

Not excited about the idea of Conte or Allegri taking over but they are more than capable of adapting to English football and I would rather take a manager who is tactically good than someone who is clueless like Pellegrini.

Clueless as he is in certain aspects at least he'd (hopefully) have us playing attractive, intricate football and he sets his teams out to dominate rather than be reactive. By the time he leaves City he may have 2 PL trophies on his CV as well so we'd know he has what it takes.

To be honest, after this season I wouldn't even mind us having a leaky defense next season as long as we ourselves are blasting teams off the pitch regularly like City do.

The most important thing is that whoever it is gets backed with huge funds. The manager could be doomed from the start if we have a repeat of these last two windows whilst our rivals are appointing Pep & Mourinho and have virtually limitless cash and CL football to offer.

Don't understand the dislike for Conte.

The guy helped turned juventus from the dull drooms.

If we can't get other top targets he would be a great second choice.

If he can do to us what he did for juventus then that will be a fine work.

Pellegrini teams are too defensively naive for my liking, Otamendi and Mangala were hot property for a reason and because of Pellegrinis cluenessness/reluctance with defensive coaching people think they are clowns when they are easily two of the best defenders around.

I've watched Juve a lot and IMO Allegri is easily better than Conte and Pellegrini. Pellegrini shouldn't even be compared to the two, as he's tactically terrible and has no plan B when things go downhill. Allegri on the other hand is not as defensive as Conte and is actually much better tactically.

I also think Allegri will be much more comfortable with the pressure of the job as well. Lets not forget that when Conte left Juve he said that he felt Juve couldn't dominate domestically anymore. Much to the initial dislike of Juve fans Allegri comes and not only wins the domestic double with ease, but also takes them to the Champions League Final.

Conte was the one who built the foundations of the great Juve side in 2015, though he never did or felt like he could take them to the next level. They were very poor in Europe and even started to question their future dominance in Italy. Allegri on the other hand took them to the next level. After their phenomenal success in 14/15, Allegri is currently building a team for the future while getting results. Everybody knew it was not going to be easy to lose three of your best players, as was reflective in the early results, but Allegri has built a new team very quickly. This Juve team is not only a serious threat to Pep's hopes of winning the CL with Bayern but also a huge contender themselves when they become stronger next season.

Max Allegri for me has been the best manager in the world in past year or so. However, I wouldn't say I prefer him over Sampaoli as the Chilean has traits that make me favor him more, but he is clearly better than the two mentioned above.

C'mon mate, that's just desperate thinking. What's the point of playing attacking football when you're leaking goals from all directions and getting found out tactically when it comes to the crunch matches? You can't say it's okay to have a leaky defence as long as the team is thrashing teams consistently because quite frankly, that's impossible to do. Sure, we might beat a few teams by a few goals but that usually only happens against the really bad ones. Come up against any decent side (and there are a lot of them in the Premier League) and you'll find that having a strong, competent defence is as important as having a strong, competent offence. And Pellegrini might have 2 league titles by the end of 2015/16 season but can we say that his playing style, his management approach were highly successful? City arguably have the strongest squad in England for some time now and yet, they are not dominating the league in manner that we did under Mourinho, United under Fergie or even Arsenal under Wenger (pre-2005 anyway). They won the title two seasons ago because of us and Crystal Palace but they're probably going to win this time again because the other teams are rubbish.

I like Allegri, he is doing a marvelous job. A lot of people didn't expect that from him, because in the end his Milan side was horrible, he was out of his depth, imo.

You can praise Allegri all you want, but one should take the whole picture into consideration.

That said, i would welome Allegri at Chelsea, but at the expense of Conte, Simeone, Sampaoli?

Normally people would start to laugh at me and ask me why i throw different philosophies in the mix, but at Chelsea there is no philosophy, the new manager has to be given a clean slate.

For me the first thing to do is to the fix the defending of the whole team, i think Conte is capable of this job, but Simeone and maybe Allegri too, Sampaoli would focus more on what we can do with the ball, that isn't bad either.

The main thing is that one of the 4 coaches would do it for me,

i don't want to see Pellegrini or Juande Ramos here.

Regards!
