Popular Post! BlueLion. 21,491 Posted August 28, 2012 Popular Post! Share Posted August 28, 2012 No, he isn't a new Bogarde because Malouda is still an excellent squad player to bring in. If Mata or Hazard pick up an injury, he is a perfect player to throw in. He can play anywhere in the midfield three, wide left or even as an auxiliary left-back if Cole and Bertrand are out. That sort of versatility is what wins titles - you can have all this quality in the first eleven, but it is the strength-in-depth that truly describes a team. Tomo 21,751
I heard he might be going Arsenal on loan Probably bs but putting it out there just incase, we seriously never learn if its true.

Rowan_Osborn 58
The french transfer window is still open, hopefully he will go soon...He seems to be popular in france still. He seems to make the national squad for every fixture.
sleazyB 58
To have this guy only play in easy cup games and stuff. Thats some nice squad depth right there. SeB
CHOULO19 24,332
Disappointed he chose money over football. He is still a France international, he could have gone to a team where he can make genuine contributions. xPetrCechx
Kieran. 6,317
With Benayoun and Essien going on loan and Meireles apparently being sold, I guess Malouda has to be used now...I've seen him play in the pivot very well with France; unlikely, but maybe he's seen as an emergency option there. He's quite sound defensively and can play in the midfield...I actually think he could do a job. It's to be seen if he'll ever be used next to Mikel (probably not), but interesting to think about. KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
It would probably be best to keep him now that we are a bit light in midfield. OneMoSalah and capriccioso
capriccioso 2,545
We can't afford to lose another midfielder, unless we plan to play a 4-1-5 or something. OneMoSalah
Milan 17,958
Wow so it is still open. Would be stupid now to let our third midfielder leave. Anyway, 4-3-3 would be the answer to all of this.
Jase 43,479
After letting both Essien and Meireles in this transfer window, not sure if it is wise to do the same with Malouda now too. Already lacking in options in the central midfield area. Unwise to weaken it any further for now when Malouda is an option in there. Best to keep him at least till January first. Then we shall see how it goes. And even if we switch to 4-3-3, he can be an option in the midfield. Wasn't really effective in there previously but an option nonetheless. Jype 6,398
Malouda is not the answer to our problems in the 4-2-3-1, not even as a backup player. He can't play in the deeper role where we are seriously lacking in numbers and we already have more than enough options to play at LW with Hazard, Mata, Marin, Moses and even Bertrand if needed, so having a guy who makes £115k / week to be the fifth / sixth choice winger and a makeshift defensive midfielder for something like 5-10 games at most (and I'm being generous here) would be ridiculous. Jase 43,479
So, he is still at the club then? At least we still have a very decent squad depth.
