Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has put the brakes on a move for Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

Real coach Jose Mourinho has been pushing Perez to splash out for the Serb.

But El Confidencial says the president has ruled out a move over concerns Ivanovic won't be good enough. After seeing Fabio Coentrao flop last season, Perez doesn't want his fingers burned twice over a player he's unsure of.

Fucking idiot!

Fucking genius :) Having Real Madrid and Mourinho sniff around my favorite Serb isn't good.

top five transfer in Roman era, no doubt about it. he is so reliable. one of my fav signings personally asell. he should definately end his career here, go down as one of most underestimated players in CFC history.

his trademark: thumbs to ref & rubbing of hair as he misses chance hahaha

IRONMAN IVANOVIC

Has had a poor preseason. The red today was just the icing on the cake.

If Azpilicueta is remotely good, and madrid are still knocking around December, then I would not be upset with him being shipped off provided we got some money and perhaps Sahin.

Great news to have Ivanovic available but he definitely needs to start picking up his form again. Has been average since pre-season.

That said, we still need a new RB ASAP!

End of last season definitely becoming a bit of a liability, and yesterday of course -we need a right back ASAP

"In addition, and in order to address uncertainty over disciplinary sanctions in pre-season friendlies, sanctions for red cards shown in such fixtures will not now apply to competitive first team games. Any such sanction will apply only in the same competition (i.e. other friendlies including The FA Community Shield)."

Ivanovic shouldn't be banned for EPL matches, no?
