We wont be getting a goal keeper lol, I really cannot see this happening

Why? Respectfully disagree.

If we can’t sell or loan him out this window he is a lost cause already no matter what’s the price we signed him for. It’s not like he can generate money on the pitch is it.

The board and Frank’s ambitions for the new season are obvious hence we should and we will get a new GK in my opinion.

"Interested in", "No other competition", "Have bid", "In negotiations", "20m apart in valuation", "10m apart", "closing in on", "close to", "On the verge of", "on the brink of",

The next headline has to be "Chelsea sign Havertz"

If we want to be decisive, we could maybe just sell Caballero, put Kepa as the #2 and then buy a new GK.

Caballero is happy even as third choice by the looks of it. Just keep him around.

It is somewhat insane that we are getting every one of our first preferred targets. GK may end that streak.

Only way we get a Ter Stegen or Oblak is if Atleti or Barca have been hitting the crack pipe and think that playing in Spain will help Kepa. If Kepa were to take a slight wage reduction say to £120k a week, then something like Kepa plus £40m would actually make him very cheap for either as Oblak is already on £350k and Ter Stegan is looking at wanting that. However, even then, I just do not see how the club finance such a move.

In my opinion, it will be a GK who we would normally consider as a decent GK2 that will come in and SFL will be told to try and get Kepa playing. I say this as even with a best case scenario as drawn out above, it would be something like this:

Kepa + £40m = £91.5m (Kepa book value of £51.5m + £40m)

Oblak/Ter Stegan wages = £91m

Total = £182.5m for five years.

Kepa either has to be given another shot at 1 (Please no) or he has to be loaned/sold.

Cannot have a 70Mn keeper as second choice. Need to get his value up again so he can be sold.

It would be a pretty massive walk back for Kepa to become our #1 again. You don't drop him for our most important matches of the season and then bring him back in.

Finding a loan destination for him has to be the only reason we haven't signed anyone new yet.

Or lampard took him out of the firing line abit to get him some confidence back, we dobt no exactly the reasons behind it, I for one hope he comes good because that money on a new keeper could come in very handy

We really need Matt Law to return from his holiday and give us some goalkeeper links. 😆

Unless Frank and the board are thinking that upgrading the defense in front of him will help Kepa enough to bring him back into the team? Hard to see that but the total silence on the keeper front is puzzling.

saving it  for a last minute panic buy of some dodgy English keeper not even mentioned yet for some insane price, lolol

Exactly, it's a big statement leaving him out.

Possible I guess. But I just don't think Frank fancies a keeper who is short and cannot command his area. Even if Kepa suddenly rediscovers his form he can't become bigger or taller. He will always be targetted at setpieces and on corners. Don't think Frank wants that.

I'm still curious about two situations: what Arse are going to do to keep Leno & Martinez happy and what United are going to do with Henderson. We have to at least inquire about both situation, right?
