Wonder if Strasbourg route was not convincing enough for his reps. Until last week there were quotes from the player saying it’s almost done

It's a signing that never made sense to me regardless,

We have James, Gusto, and Acheampong for RB.

Agreed. Although given his age and inexperience even at Brasil Serie A (he plays in Serie B), can't imagine the club would be counting on him for the immediate future.

I agree unless we're going after some kind of phenominal beast that can do a VVD to Liverpool esque transformation to us. I am not aware of such a player that is a realistic transfer.

these are the top 18 valuation CBs globally

none are peak VVD level

my targets in these 18:

the 8 in bold are my favs

Scalvini blew his knee out 3 weeks ago, so a no go for now

Ronald Araujo (almost impossible to pull him for Chels)
Alessandro Bastoni (almost impossible to pull him for Chels) left footed

then

Bremer
Leny Yoro
António Silva

Giorgio Scalvini injured
Gonçalo Inácio left footed

lower in valuation targets:

Piero Hincapié  left footed
Robin Le Normand
Mohamed Simakan
Willian Pacho  left footed
Jean-Clair Todibo
Dávid Hancko  left footed
Alessandro Buongiorno  left footed
Jorrel Hato  left footed
Riccardo Calafiori   left footed
Malick Thiaw
El Chadaille Bitshiabu left footed

Yeah, don’t know how or why any Chelsea fan would care about this Pedro Lima kid going elsewhere. Reece & Malo Gusto are both excellent and both young. The kid had no pathway to the first team anytime soon anyways. Makes perfect sense that he goes to a team that’s basically all Portuguese speaking where he can play more.

Hancko is a nice underhand pick. Definitely on my list of defenders to watch that I think have the potential to become class. (Great performance today as well) The others being the obvious

Caliafiori

Bijol

Inacio

krejci

Disappointing has been sutalo

he has crazy potential and was going to Strausbourg

it is an embarrasing cock-up

Yeah I don't know, Wolves offered more money and EPL football. He just took the better offer.

He looked good in possession on YouTube but I think it's going a bit far to say that this is a cock up. Wolves no doubt have offered him a place in their first team squad when he joins up and are very likely paying him more than could be sustained by Strasburg without upsetting their wage structure. He's probably also agreed a release clause in case his performances attract the interest of bigger clubs. That's an attractive package when compared to what we could offer now. I don't blame BlueCo for trying to do this deal, and I don't blame the lad for choosing an alternative which suits him better.

Good luck to the boy.
