That season is included in this year's FFP calculation, but drops off the books for next year's reckoning. If it was a year in which we had an FFP deficit, then it dropping off the books is helpful. If, however, we had a surplus that year then it dropping off the books is not helpful. I don't know how the books finished up then, but the income was pretty healthy that year thanks in no small part to an enjoyable evening in Oporto. 🙂 Edited January 23, 2023 by OhForAGreavsie ulsterchelsea
ZAPHOD2319 4,819
The will just point to Enzo's release clause, all up front. I don't see it happening.
Mhsc 1,098
Probably we'll bid just south of 100m as a final bid and they'll reject it.

It was more so players being moved on at end of contracts like Willian and Pedro so I would assume transfers wise that summer may have been a big deficit. May just depend on how everything falls into which assessment period, etc. OhForAGreavsie

Mhsc 1,098
I knew this rumour wasn't over with for the transfer window. Looking forward to one more rollercoaster of endless speculation from Twitter that everyone takes as gospel, as everyone calls Boehly a useless American cunt who doesn't understand our fine British sport before he somehow ends up joining Barcelona. Milan 17,959
Chelsea don’t want to be held to ransom. I mean, this is BS, how exactly? There is a release clause 😄 Vesper
Special Juan 28,141
If we are back in for me it's simply lay the release clause on the table end of story, or it's pointless even picking the phone up ulsterchelsea
Pizy 18,952
Unless we kiss Benfica’s ass and beg for forgiveness, why would they even come to the table again? If, and that’s a big IF they agree to come to the table I wonder if they’d work with us on the price a bit. Maybe offer €90m as an initial payment with add ons eventually reaching the full €100m+ That’s still an incredible deal for someone they just recently bought for peanuts. Because it doesn't benefit them to permanently break a relationship with a club any more than it does us. In years to come they may need a big sale with us the only (well resourced) club with a need for the player they're trying to sell.

Pizy 18,952
Unless I see a picture of Enzo holding up a Chelsea shirt I can’t even muster any excitement about us potentially going in for him again. Even the very reliable and supposedly trustworthy Portuguese reporters and outlets made it sound like a 100% done deal last time. So why would we believe any of them now?
