I was of the same mindset until recently. If we are planning to let Broja go, then moving for Ronaldo seems like a no-brainer for 12 months.

This will most likely be for one season only, so I find it hard to imagine there will be a meltdown within that time. Fluidity over substance can't continue.

How do you know it will be only for one season? Ronaldo only has 1 year left and pretty sure United won't accept a loan.

I don't expect the club to offer a player at 37 a two-year+ contract. A year to win something notable before going to America or going back to SCP would make sense.

Except Ronaldo will most likely demanding at least 2-3 years contract, no way he is willing to ruin his United legacy for 1 season with us lol.

No he never. Bruno took indirect FK. Ronaldo took the penalties. Bruno took two penalties when Ronaldo was there (which Ronaldo gave him permission to), other than that Ronaldo took them. Ronaldo always took the FK. Again if Fernandes took it, this was due to Ronaldo passing over the duties to him.

Cheers thought it was the other way around. Wouldn't mind Ronaldo on penalties tbf.

Obviously adapt to Tuchel tactic.

Which Lukaku could never do, hence the out roar in his signing. His limitations on the ball is ultimately the reason he's successful in only one system.

Not saying Ronaldo will be perfect but his ability on the ball makes him a better bet he will fair better under Tuchel than Lukaku. Also ignoring the glaring obvious Ronaldo is a drastically superior finisher.

He's willing to leave them to win something. That in itself will do enough to damage his legacy.

Yea no thanks to Ronaldo.

While he's still definitely a world class player inside the penalty box when given the ball there, he doesn't work hard enough and he eats up the space other attacking players could otherwise thrive in. All that pretty much means even though he still scores a lot, his overall effect on the team is negative. I already said it when he was still playing at Juventus and last season at Man Utd it became more and more evident.

On paper he could still be a great squad option if used more sparingly for certain kind of opponents (ones who defend deep) or certain situations within a game (ie. need a late goal so bring in Ronaldo from the bench for the last 20-30 mins), and with a more sensible load management he could even have required stamina to be a hard working player but obviously that's just not in his nature. Even at 37yo he still expects to start almost every game in the EPL/UCL and will sulk if benched.

I'm definitely more than ready to eat my words if he does indeed join and is a success, but for now I'm gonna say pass. Lewandowski would be my dream signing up front for the next couple seasons but seeing as he's hell bent on going to Barcelona there's not a lot of appealing options out there. Maybe just stick with Havertz up front with Broja as rotational option for now?

He won't destroy his legacy by moving abroad, a whole different than moving to United's direct rival.

If reports are to be believed, we're currently the only side of note with a serious interest. He isn't going to end up at a team like Napoli.

Nope Ornstein mentioned his potential next club are us, Bayern, or PSG.

Aren't Bayern just a side he's been offered to?

Either way, anyone that knows the slightest about Bayern knows that they aren't going to break their entire structure for him. Mbappe wanting Neymar out only for him to be replaced by someone even bigger would be hilarious.

And our interest came from Boehly and Eghbali, not Tuchel himself.
