I’m fine with us not spending silly money on Jacquet this month for sure. But if a CB HAS to come in (which we clearly feel is the case) I’d have preferred we went and got an experienced head who instantly slots into that LCB role that Badi played today.

Jacquet is more of a RCB or middle CB in a back 5

the player you are describing is literally Senesi

od head, but not too old, and a lefty who is great on the ball

also Alessandro Buongiorno, but he will be very expensive and a HARD pull (especially with poison dwarf's Napoli plus he is Italian in a major big Italian club)

and as always

Bastoni lurks out there, the best CB on the planet atm for me, and also a lefty

The Palmer to United thing is such a nothingburger. Even these jokers in charge wouldn’t dare sell our best player to a direct PL rival. Sending unwanted or unneeded fringe players to other PL teams is one thing. Selling the best and most popular player and the face of the club to a place where he’d haunt us for years is the kind of thing that would rightly cause a fan revolt.

Also, in an era where players are now regularly going for £100m+ I don’t think we should even entertain a Palmer sale to anyone for less than £150m. And that would only be if Real Madrid came in for him.

If United try to come in and unsettle him this summer we shouldn’t even pick up the phone to discuss it with them.

Besiktas pay £11m for Tammy Abraham - to sell him to Villa

Besiktas have paid £11.2m to Roma for Tammy Abraham - as the Turkish club prepare to sell him to Aston Villa.

The striker had a medical on Saturday having travelled to the UK on Friday after Villa agreed an £18m deal with the Super Lig side.

Besiktas had an obligation to buy in the loan deal which took Abraham from Roma last summer and did not want to sell him, but are reluctantly allowing Abraham to return to England.

Abraham, who has 11 England caps, scored 12 goals in 24 games for Besiktas.

"The conditions in the transfer contract of Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham have been fulfilled and the provision for the permanent transfer of the player has come into effect," said Besiktas.

"In this context, a transfer fee of 13m euros will be paid to AS Roma."

The 28-year-old joined Roma from Chelsea for £34m in 2021 and scored 39 goals in 120 games for the Serie A club, winning the Europa Conference League in 2022.

He also spent 2024-25 on loan at AC Milan, scoring 10 times in 44 appearances.

Seems like Douglas Luiz is more likely to go back to Villa now. So we should be hearing quickly who the other options are.

At this point it’s probably going to be a Buonanotte V2 type who barely sees the pitch since no quality midfielder is going to move with mere days left in the window.

It was practically impossible to sign a player of that age. That whole thing was just to fool the fans. It’s all nonsense.

Luiz is not going to choose us over Villa, he knows we have Caicedo, Enzo and Santos, so he will be a bench option for the majority

and at villa he will fight for the premier

👀Chelsea have the option to trigger a break clause in Mamadou Sarr’s loan at Strasbourg.

🔴Kendry Paez is being lined up for a move away from Strasbourg after being consistently left out of the first XI in recent months.

🟠Tyrique George is expected to be sold and is going to make a decision on where he goes this week.

Yep. If his options were riding Forest’s bench or riding ours he was probably ready to jump at the chance.

But if his options are now ride our bench or go back to the club he already knows well, performed very well at, and will actually start plenty of games due to their injuries it’s a no brainer.

I don’t think a single Chelsea supporter is going to be bothered that we didn’t get him.

What I predict: we will see all the journalists tweet the same brief simultaneously in the last couple of days of the window saying “Chelsea looked really hard for players that could help them for the rest of the season but have decided that internal solutions made more sense. They’re going to save that money and go bkg in the summer instead.” And then they’ll list a bunch of exciting names we have no shot at to calm the supporters who are angry we didn’t do anything in January.

Anselmino will be our CB solution and Lavia returning will be our midfield solution. Tbh, Anselmino can be very useful if he actually plays. Counting on Lavia to not pick up a 3 month injury getting out of his bed in the morning would be a huge mistake.

It’s funny reading all these guys treating Douglas Luiz as some huge transfer. Fabrizio with a bomb emoji and others saying “Villa beat Chelsea to Douglas Luiz!” as if we tried super hard and wanted him really badly.

This is a guy who can’t get into the midfield of a team fighting relegation currently and wouldn’t have been near our first XI.

Half the personnel we're associated with, including the manager, backroom staff, scouting set up would never have even been considered 10, 15, 20 years ago.

Shows how far we've come. It was obvious from the 'takeover' we're part of a franchise where mediocrity is acceptable.
