I didn't criticize him or Cucurella in first season. Just said Wirtz doesn't look good...

You're only allowed to judge Gittens negatively.

I'm cracking up thinking if we got Wirtz. This place would have melted down.

Bayern (and the Budesliga in general) could lose most of their very top players next summer

Jamal Musiala (Real Madrid)

Michael Olise  (Liverpool)

Harry Kane (multiple EPL teams)

Aleksandar Pavlovic (multiple big European sides)

Alphonso Davies  (multiple big European sides)

Dayot Upamecano (multiple big European sides)

Joshua Kimmich (multiple big European sides, and he will turn 32yo anyway in the middle of next season)

Min-jae Kim

plus

GKer Gregor Kobel of Dortmund is linked to many clubs

Here are the top valuation Bundesliga players

most have a good chance of leaving, and most are Bayern players (9 of the top 10 in valuation, which is crazy)

Jamal Musiala
Michael Olise
Harry Kane
Luis Diaz
Aleksandar Pavlovic
Alphonso Davies
Dayot Upamecano
Nicholas Jackson
Joshua Kimmich
Angelo Stiller
Karim Adeyemi
Gregor Kobel
Min-jae Kim

the upcoming CF market is the simplest in years

the only 5 (maybe 4 if you do not count Thuram as WC) world class CFs who will be even remotely available next summer:

Julián Alvarez  (Barca want him badly, he turns 27yo in the middle of next season)
Lautaro Martínez  (turns 29yo this coming summer)
Victor Osimhen  (turns 28yo in the middle of next season)
Harry Kane  (turns 33 this coming summer, but already has an insane 25 goals for club and country the past 3 and a half or so months)

and maybe

Marcus Thuram  (turns 29yo this coming summer)

(all 5 above will be crazy hard pulls and and none are 'BlueCo' young, they will all be or will turn 27, 28, 29, 29, and 33yo next season)

I'd be surprised if he doesn't go back to Spurs for 1-2 seasons so that he can go for Shearer's record

And people complain that the WSL is a one team league. (Chelsea)

Every once in a while a Dortmund or a Leverkausen come along to offer some camouflage but, in the end, the point of the Bundesliga is who's going to finish second.

And who would blame them? Our expenditure on alternatives since missing out on Olise has been a lot more than that.

not really

Olise is a left footed RWer

we lost out to Bayern on him on July 7, 2024

we have purchased only 2 left-footed RWers since then (Estêvão was purchased before we lost out on Olise) during that window and the next 2

In August 2024, dropped £54m on Pedro Neto, another left-footed RWer.

Then, in March 2025, we purchased Geovany Quenda for around £44m (he comes next summer)

The total for those 2 is £98m, which is far less than £130m.

(Kendry Páez, like Estêvão, was also purchased before we lost out on Olise and is more of an AMF type, and we only dropped £8.5m on him anyway)

None of our other buys in the last 3 windows (Summer 2024, January 2025, and Summer 2025) were left footed RWers (ie the same as Olise), they all have been right-footed LWers
