I guess it just further proves the point that they went back on their word. Maybe to keep him or his team happy?

It's bizarre all round. He's supposedly been at Cobham since Jan, so they've had plenty of time to see what he's about. Put him in the squad on the off chance for some game time or send him to France to prepare for the season ahead. This decision just shows how many clueless heads have ties with the club.

This just sounds like a player with a massive ego, publicly stated that he was disappointed at not going to the CWC and then days later, the club allows him to go the CWC.

What's behind this? Seemed understandable we send him to RSC on loan, even with not filling up all possible CWC squad places. But like this? What has changed? What's the point, who can benefit from this and how?

Player power, although I'm not sure what benefit Paez gets out of this, he's not listed in the squad for the first phase of the tournament.

Did he say anything, though? We are going off reports, nothing more.

Caicedo probably is now, I don’t class enzo any where near WC nor did I when we bought him tbh. Palmer had a WC season with us, needs to do that more to be anywhere near world class

I think big names in the sense they were both world class prospects.

We've never really gotten the world class established player ala Pogba, Neymar, etc - even Hazard wasn't the out and out star when we got him. He was much in the same position as Enzo and Caicedo. We've gotten players before they get there.

He was one of the brighter talents in the French league and the transfer fee was around 30 million.

The problem for Enzo will always be that inflated price tag.  As soon as he has a run of games where he isn't having that big impact, he'll be called a flop.

Yeah - my point was more people saying we don't get the world class talent everyone is after. Enzo was one of the hottest prospects in the world, as was Caicedo - and we got both.

I'd say the Lavia pull was big as well - and even the likes of Nkunku who at that point was being talked about as one of the best SS in the world.

Not to mention, we were competing with Liverpool for these guys in a lot of cases. Given where we are, and how consistent Liverpool have been and their status in England, when we go head to head with clubs for players, we do really, really well. People are being dramatic acting as if we don't pull the best talent anymore.

The rumours linking us with Mario Gila are getting more traction. While I don’t think it will happen, the prospect of having a very technical, super pro-active almost playmaking defender is exciting but I do have some reservations about his lack of physicality. I think he would be well suited for Marescaball but not the best in the air so might struggle with some PL oppositions

AFC Bournemouth have offered €40 million + bonuses to Lazio for centre back, Mario Gila. 🇪🇸

Amid recent interest in the 24-year-old as previously reported, may be an interesting one to watch in the coming days. 👀

Feels like all rumors and links just died stone cold the second the June 10 deadline lapsed. Haven’t seen any transfer talk since even though the window back open, right?

Dumb and dumber will be on holiday no doubt, if they aren't they will be in the maternity unit of the local hospital searching for the next up and coming talent

Or they’re so obsessed with Gittens and he’s our only LW target and they’re therefor waiting until after the CWC for him. 🤦‍♂️
