I could be made to eat my words in a few years, but to me Højland doesn’t look like a special talent. I don’t even think he looks as good as Jackson who we’ve just bought and he might not even be our starting striker depending on the rest of the business we do.

Media and United fans are hyping him up and comparing him to Haaland. That’s madness. He looks like a decent young striker to me.

I’m glad they’re going for him rather than Kane/Osimhen/Kolo Muani/Goncalo Ramos.

Valid point, and it really sucks that the natural alternative to Caicedo (Barella) is also Inter

plus the next two, below them, Schlotterbeck (Dortmund) and Botman (NUFC) are hardly easy pulls either

left footed, top class CBs are like hen's teeth

Both of those players would fit us like a glove, and IMO, Barella is a better option.

This Caicedo saga is dragging on far too long at this point.

We really got fucked with Fofana.

Yeah, a Boehly era fuck up that we're stuck with now, very good player but never should have gone for him until he showed a solid season injury free.

Does Fofana have a repeated problem or is it different every time? Wonder if he can just have a surgery to get through whatever it is or if he's just in general got a fragile body. No doubt didn't help that last year we threw away all of our medical staff (another Boehly era move) and evidently didn't take care of the players properly whatsoever.

I have a strong dislike of the idea of paying Inter anything for anyone ever again.

If that Fofana rumor is true then @Vesper was right from the very beginning. She was banging the drum about his injury issue but I refused to believe our medical team would’ve given the club the green light without being 100% sure it wouldn’t be a long term concern.

😭😭😭

Hope it’s not true. He’s such a huge talent and Poch could’ve done SO much good for his development.

I warned on buying him.

I rated the hell out of him before his massive injury, but one of my fundamental beliefs is that you you never buy a player after a massive injury until they have a least two or so healthy seasons after that, seasons where they are at least back to the level they were before the massive injury.

I am really sick of Brighton. They keep trying to include Colwill when we have told every club that he will not be sold. After Caicedo is done, I hope we never do any business with them.

We’ll probably try to get Mitoma next summer 🤣🤣🤣

The injury that kept him out for almost a full year at Leicester was a leg break but this is said to be a knee problem. Knee issues were what kept him out last season from October to February too.

He did have some prior knee problems at Saint-Etienne (in 2019) before he even moved to Leicester but it was nothing major and at the time only kept him out for around 10 games or so. Didn't have any problems with his knees for a good few years prior to the Chelsea move until getting hurt last October.

Leg breaks usually heal quite well and don't cause problems going forward so I'm not too convinced that a 10 game knee injury few years prior to the move should have been seen as a deal breaker about him being injury prone? The likes of Azpi and Rüdiger had ACL ruptures in their past before coming to the club and never had any issues with their knees, and especially Azpi never had any issues with any injuries period. Sometimes you just get unlucky, I guess.
