If he does super well here Atleti (having just now extended his contract) can demand £100m or more for him in the summer. Or just not consider selling him at all. I mean, with Boehly in charge I have no doubt that he would pay what Atleti ask for if he wants to stay, but with the previous regime in charge we would’ve insisted and likely succeeded in agreeing a buy option for something reasonable. Injuries made us desperate, clearly. We agreed to a pretty shit deal out of desperation. We've had our pants pulled down if I am honest. Despite the fact he could be a good signing. If he does well and we get up the table wont mind as much but wouldn't think he will be coming here next season. Full wages for 6 months which are 250k per week, a €11m loan fee and no option to buy. Plus he’s renewed his contract there to protect Atletico’s investment in him there also. Not even a mention of an option like the Kovacic loan either. Some places even speculating now that they aren’t sure Potter specifically wanted him either. Apparently consulted but thats as far as it goes as they see him as “head coach” more than the manager. Although his job title is head coach, going on this info, the signings from now I would imagine will be targets chosen more by a recruitment team. Similar to how Salzburg and Leipzig do it. Kovacic had no buy option either from what I remember, Odegaard also had no option and still ended up staying.

Think you’re right about Odegaard but I think Kovacic did have one at around 40m, didn’t he?

I don’t know. I would of thought if he didn't have some sort of option/clause, we wouldn’t of been able to buy him due to the transfer ban. Could be wrong but don’t see how we managed to get him otherwise.

YorkshireBlue 3,275
Wasn't it more because we already had him on the book and registered, that's why we could buy him Superblue

We we're banned from registering players but since Kovacic was already registered on loan we could buy him but I don't think he had any buy option. Mário César 1,251
enzo celebrates its goal with a gesture that seems "I will stay" well he will not come to Chelsea tbh don't bother me because lets face the true, 130M€ is a insane fee of money Im happy that Chelsea will not go forward with this madness deal Bren
MoroccanBlue 5,379
Felix will take us from 10th to 10th. Enzo on the other hand can rejuvenate the squad. Miracles genuinely happen when you vastly improve the midfield. Just look at United. Laylabelle

Losing against Fulham will send us to relegation battle, but nothing better can't be expected from this clowns. Enzo would have been revelation, just like Tchouameni back then, but we like our useless signings instead. Pretty face and that's about it with Felix. Brought for cheering up fans purposes only. Vesper 30,161
Inter Milan President Steven Zhang Wanted To Sign Paulo Dybala But Simone Inzaghi Asked For Romelu Lukaku https://sempreinter.com/2023/01/11/inter-milan-president-steven-zhang-wanted-to-sign-paulo-dybala-but-simone-inzaghi-asked-for-romelu-lukaku-italian-media-claim/ Inter President Steven Zhang had wanted to sign Paulo Dybala on a free transfer this summer, but coach Simone Inzaghi asked the club to sign Romelu Lukaku instead. This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who claim that it had been the coach’s insistence that Lukaku’s characteristics were the better fit for the team than Dybala’s which led the Nerazzurri to prioritize bringing the Belgian back on loan from Chelsea. Inter were involved in prominent transfer sagas with both Lukaku and Dybala during the summer, but only the former ended up signing. It had been reported that once Lukaku was signed to reinforce the attack, the Nerazzurri’s interest in signing Dybala cooled significantly, as there were by that point already four senior forwards in the squad. According to Calciomercato, Dybala had been the dream target for Zhang, once the Argentine became available on a free transfer from Serie A rivals Juventus. However, the report claims, Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi felt that as far as the attacking style of play that he wanted to institute in the team, Lukaku would be the better fit. In the end, the coach got what he wanted, as Lukaku made a high-profile return to Inter just one season after making a massive money move to Chelsea. According to Calciomercato, however, the club’s President Zhang had always seen Dybala as the preferable target of the two.
