Benfica seems like one of those clubs that always accepts that bigger, richer clubs will come in for their players. They don’t play games and they don’t stand in the way if clubs pay what they ask for. So if we (or someone else) offer the money and convince the player they’ll sell. They won’t dig their heels in and refuse to let him go.

If we want him this window may be our best and only shot. Much more competition for him in the summer you’d assume and who knows how attractive we’ll be then.

UEFA won the big court case, and Covid no longer forces no crowds, so they now enforce a modified new FFP.

Not sure on any exception for us. Very little sympathy out there for Russians atm,  nor for the messes they made/left in their wake.

Bellingham has the potential to become one of the greatest English midfielders of all time, maybe just maybe one of the greatest in the World. An all round box to box machine.

 

 

 

Enzo is a different player..one that I feel we need far more than a Bellingham. 

 

Enzo has the ability to unlock defences with line splitting passes from ridiculously acute angles... he has the tenacity of a pitbull and reads the game excellently well... we need this desperately in our midfield. I also think he would be perfect for Andre Santos to learn from.

From what I gathered, it should be no problem working up a deal with Benfica right now for a summer move. Similar to Nkunku. 

It's persuading Enzo on the project that is the issue. Money helps, but we need to get him on board with what we are trying to do. Potter allegedly wanting a complete midfield revamp earns a lot of admiration as Tuchel has ignored the midfield for two years.

Yeah they are two different players. Bellingham the higher ceiling, but Enzo I feel suits us to a tee.

Think the club is probably worried about our CL place. CM is an issue if we want to push for 4th. Cannot see them in this instance being happy to shell out the big bucks and then wait.

Sounds like Badiashile is one step away from joining. Still not able to get excited about the move. Again, he’s a talented player who looks like he’ll go on to be very solid but he simply looks like the wrong fit stylistically for our team.

Unless Potter’s plan long term is to go with a back 4 I just don’t see Badiashile being the ideal LCB for the Premier League.

I see us getting Alvarez and in all honesty I am fine with it. Desperate for Jorginho depth.
