That means one of our attackers has to go, the dream would be Lukaku but my second choice would be Timo.. dont get me wrong, i love the guy he is great.. its just his technique is quite poor

It looks like Werner, he is hardly playing atm.

While I thought we mostly handled him well yesterday, Luis Diaz is the exact sort of wide player we need this summer. Someone you can play the ball out to over and over and he will aggressively attack in 1v1 situations. Pulisic is like that when in top form. CHO was sort of like that before he got his big injury and now he can beat anyone out wide. Ziyech is more of a dead ball specialist who can’t really run past players consistently. And sadly it looks like Werner is never going to come good at Chelsea.

I think Werner goes this summer for sure. For his sake more than anything. So at least 1 wide player will certainly come in. If the choice is between Raphinha and Dembele I’d definitely choose Raphinha but both fit the bill.

Matt Law mentioned that Pulisic and Werner are the likeliest to leave (in Werner's case, if nothing changes between now and May) and any incomings will depend on outgoings.

Maybe I'm clutching at straws here but Tuchel said Werner had a bad case of COVID back in December and Werner himself said how he got tired from just walking up the stairs (or something along those lines). It was the same case with Havertz last season. So, maybe that's the reason for his lack of starts recently, especially when we were in dire need of results?

That being said, maybe it's best that he goes to a club that will make better use of his qualities. The question is, where's the market for him (would anyone agree to sell him to a rival, say United, if they come for him?)?

On the bigger picture, it's kinda funny to see people clamor for new signings but at the same time, want Broja back in the squad.

One thing I'd say is that it's disappointing that we haven't seen more of Havertz and Werner play together this season. When they did play together last season, they showed that they have good chemistry and understanding of one another's game (they also assisted one another a few times). Matt Law mentioned last week that some in the squad are surprised, for example, that Tuchel has played the CL winning trio of Werner, Havertz and Mount only once this season (I know there have been injuries and COVID but when they are all available). That was something that we could have built on but alas, we tossed that aside for Lukaku and we're now like kinda stuck with him in the squad.

Wonder how it would impact Kai if Werner leaves. They seem like great mates off the pitch.

Of all the big signings we’ve made recently Werner is the one that makes me the saddest because his situation is so inexplicable. Goes from one of the most dangerous forwards in Europe to a player opposition fans laugh at.

It’ll be a real shame if he goes as he seems like a top guy. And I think he’ll go back to Germany and rediscover himself.

This new situation with owner is big blow to us. But  dismantling our Cl winning trio without giving them the chance to built from there and getting Lukaku instead talented scoring winger as reinforcement  is damning act that will hunt us for years to come. Incomings will depend on outgoings? We will sign nobody even if this mare come to an end. We may sell  Conor and Broja to have for Lukaku's wages.

I don't understand how our owner didn't have some info and why we took so much risk by getting 200 mill player, 100 + 85 mill player in such a difficult and insecure times. Un top of that we made around 200 mil loss last year and spend 200 mill on one single player. Madness.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing  but in light of these events not getting anyone would be the most sensible and prudent thing to do last season.

I know there was the fear of repeating 2013 but you dont rely on player who failed massively  playing for the big club in this league to improve other big club.

Nevermind, we don't seem able to compete domestically , referees eliminate us with ease and that is consequence of our 2017-2021 transfer activities. I can't see improvement with this management. We are top four club on track to lose our edge. Weather recent events hit us hard, I can't tell but I honestly haven*t been able to see the light regardless. Not with this decision making.

Yes, we are CL and world Champions. That makes it even worse.

Pace and dynamism is what we need. Traore should have been picked up - as on a better team he would have thrived like he is at Barca. He doesn't need to be perfect. He just needs to have moments.

I'd be all for Dembele. Technical and fast. Play Kai in the middle with the options of Dembele, Wener, Puli and CHO all there. That is ideal. Dembele on a free would be no risk.

We need a big, technical midfielder as well. That and a fullback who is okay on both sides. Mainly left. Reece James, for as fickle as our fans are week to week is a locked on starter for me.

Demebele and Diaby both and I am more than happy with winger biz for the summer

I just hope we can but anyone at this point, the Roman shit is likely to only get worse I fear  😿

Forget buying anyone new.

Is anyone concerned about how all these events are going to affect contract negotiations for our current crop?

No point in speculating I guess.  Just a rabbit hole of misery at this point

Makes sense to let him go but if we replace Cesar with a quality RB this summer, it will deter us from looking at Livramento and his 38m release clause that is active from 2023.

Think we will use James and Kounde as an alternative.

Sounds like this will happen but RWB is a very specialised role now. I would want 2 quality options in the squad to avoid something like the LWB situation this year

No guarantee if Livramento is even willing to go back here and compete with James.
