Get it done and get his replacement.

It'll hinge on Marina.   I think she'd deal with Spurs depending on the bid. But they'd maybe have a premium thrown on, compared to Inter's offer.  She was happy to sell Luiz to Arsenal, Mata to Utd.  I know Spurs is a slightly different beast altogether but business is business when you could potentially lose out on 6-7m.

Was a few rumours on twitter yesterday that Giroud's agent was at Hotspur way training ground... I dont think he'd be there negotiating without some idea that we'd sell to them.

It can be the only thing holding us back from getting a replacement in, has to be.

It's going to be a Cavani/Piatek loan deal or a mass amount of cash laid on the table to Lyon for Dembele where they cannot refuse.

not even Marina is stupid enough to bid £10m for a 37yo (in the beginning of next season), out of contract, hack GK who is shorter than I am (or the exact same height if spuds are not lying about it, which I think they are)

Exactly, would be similar for them of they offer around about that money for Oli who has completely lost his legs.

Levy is pissed from the Modric pursuit and unsettling of their best player.

Taking Willian off them at the last minute probably didn't help either.

I don't think there's a no business understanding in place, but dealings with rival clubs are always much more difficult and ego driven as both clubs strive to get the better side of the deal.

Levy can think all he wants he's some mastermind of the transfer market. When Redknapp was there as manager it genuinely felt like it was Del Boy and Rodney trying to wheel and deal every summer.

That Modric saga created the most bizzare cult of Levy from Spurs fans, I've never known a set of supporters to idolise a member of their board.

He is a weird one is Levy, sometimes he does really well (assembling that team that challenged us in 2017 with their transfer policy and wage structure was a massive achievement) but other times he does things not even Ed Woodward would be stupid enough to do (appointing Jose after two collapses with rivals).

You would think Giroud would want one last long contract at his age. Why go to Spuds and play for only half a season before being right back in the situation he's in now when Kane comes back? I thought he would only want to go to France or Italy where he could be the main man for a couple more years.

If we brought in Cavani I'd sell him to Spuds. Doesn't bother me becasue we wouldn't be weakening ourselves while significantly improving them. Not like he was playing under Frank and it's not as though he'd be banging in 15 goals for Mourinho. He'd make them better, sure, but that's becasue someone is better than no one which is what they have now.
