I don't think that the only available leftbacks are average to be honest. Both Benfica and Porto got knocked out of the Champions League and both of these teams have two of the best leftbacks in the world in Grimaldo and Telles. I rate both of them higher than Chilwell who doesn't want to leave in January. What bothers me is the lack of movement from the board in trying to actually sign what we need right now. Not agreeing/disagreeing with you or anything but the board clearly have their plans - for the better or worse - if they aren't moving for a left back this month. No links might be a good thing because in recent year's we've brought a few players who have barely been mentioned amongst the rumour mills. Especially if our primary targets end up at our PL rivals. Also pinning everything on whether or not we finish top 4. My preference for a new striker is Morelos. He seems to have sorted out his discipline issues this season and he's the perfect striker for a pressing team, has shades of Suarez about him. That would be moronic by all accounts from the manager to board level and above. It is clear Frank doesnt rate Giroud or Batshuayi so why is the club sitting on its hands, doing fuck all? He should be pushing them too saying look we are short in this position, go get X, Y or Z. Also with the talk of selling Giroud this month it makes me even more baffled. Frank and the club didnt have to buy in the summer except Kovacic but I am not expecting that Frank and the club hasnt drawn up a list of players when he came in and since coming in he likes... even more baffled that this Moussa Dembele talk has taken Frank by surprise despite the rumor we made a bid. ulsterchelsea 3,221 Posted January 10, 2020 Share Posted January 10, 2020 I get why people are upset by Frank's comments but in fairness when you believe almost every rumor that comes out and identify positions that you think we need to strengthen rather than knowing what the club wants, well your setting yourself up for that. Personally if we aren't signing short term replacements, at stupid prices because the club would rather blood more you and save money until summer time then I'm happy enough.
