Chelsea Transfers

Zaha is 27 and likely just entering the prime of his career. Don't know why some are seemingly suggesting that he's got no room for improvement. Taking an already super talented player and surrounding him with much more talented players than he's ever played with is a recipe for a good transfer for me. Even if Zaha doesn't take a step up, if we got the same Zaha we've seen for the past couple of years he's an extremely dangerous weapon.

He tears defenders to shreds and it's almost impossible to get the ball off him when he's in form. That's something we could 100% use.

Again, Sancho first choice, Zaha next. Maybe even Ziyech now Ajax are out of the CL.

If the club is indeed looking at a CB in january, we should be looking at Merih Demiral from Juve. He's not getting much playing time there and might be available. He's potentially world class. Teams in the PL will be all over him. He would be a much better option than Ake for around the same fee.

I am not trying to be combative

Nothing against you mate but each time I see an overrated player being linked to a better club the arguments are like copy paste, he will play with better players thus better stats, he is 26-27 perfect age to peak but in reality these things never work like this.

Funny enough the comments about Zaha are almost identical to what I was reading a few years ago on reddit when Bakayoko, Drinkwater and Zappacosta were close to signing and everyone was over hyping them insulting people who said they are bang average players, of course it didn't take a genius to see they would fail miserably. Zaha doesn't look any different for me, he has been gash this season and even before this one inconsistent as fuck. If by on form you mean the same thing as Willian which happens one month a season than we're screwed.

Not even Arsenal went for him.....they took that money and got a better and younger winger in Pepe. There are better option out there for the same outlet or just a bit more.

How's that working out for Arsenal? Pepe has been utterly awful this season. And they did go after Zaha but as usual they tried to lowball Palace.

Zaha was Arsenal's first choice. Lille allowed Arsenal to structure the deal in instalments which Palace did not allow.

Its not his fault that Emery didnt utilize him......if he has been awful then Zaha has been utterly non-exixtent this season.

Didnt know about that but Theres no doubt I much rather Pepe. No big Club will go for Zaha, for the price its just bonkers imo.

If we went for a player that cheap over a Haaland or a Sancho (especially after a summer of no signings) most here would lose their shit claiming it's the ultimate proof we have no ambition anymore.

It's the difference in position over us and Liverpool. We need to be looking to improve our starting XI whilst they need to bolster their squad.

Hopefully in a couple of seasons we'll be in a similar position.

if we drop the equivalent of £80m on Zaha and he plays like Pepe maybe his first goal finally gets him going  has so far, there will be RIOTS

i am going to go BONKERS if we soon have yet another 5 to 9 goal a year winger (like Willian)

especially one who cost fucking 80m quid and who blocked us from Sancho

Zaha's overall stats are shit, 18/19 was his best year and it is only ok, not ANYWHERE near 80m pounds good enough, shit team or not

plus he only has 2 full sub 30yo seasons left if he comes

there are only 4 wingers who are over 30yo in the entire EPL (and we bloody have two of them)

There is ONE 30yo left winger in the EPL, NONE older

Junior Stanislas,

then NO OTHER LWers over 27yo in the EPL

Then the 4 RWers over 30yo (Aaron Lennon, Pedro, Snodgrass, Willian) plus 2 30yos, Theo Walcott and Yarmalenko, no others over 29

I literally laugh when I hear people say of a 27, 28yo winger 'Oh, they are just starting to enter their prime.'  <<<<<< BOLLOCKS

AMFs are the same (33yo David Silva who is gone in 5 months, then only 4 others over 28yo in the entire EPL,  the three 31yo's Özil, Mata, Lallana,  and finally the just turned 30yo Sigurdsson)

the next oldest is Debruyne at 28yo

the EPL (and football in general) is not baseball or yank NFL quarterbacks

And if he proves to be a miss you'll dismiss it as this things happen in football even thought the writing is on the wall with him.

As for Ajax, we marginally played better than them away and they had an overruled goal which was never offside while we were getting outplayed at home before the refs did us a huge favor again, sure thing.

Not atall, as my previous history shown I will admit fairly quickly if it's not working, I just find it rather odd that people are acting like a player who's played at a good level in the PL for many years (and carried a club on his back) is getting dismissed as some vanity signing from League One.

I think he is vastly overrated, and we already have to many average players but if he was worth 30 mil tops I wouldn't have a problem but for 80 mil and 100+ weekly wages it's ridiculous, you add another 30-40 and get a potential world class player in Sancho, even excluding him there are other names out there better like Chiesa with way better value of money.

Don't get me wrong he's far from my first choice I just don't think he'll be anywhere near as bad as people think.

Infact I've asked my freind who's a Palace fan and he almost wants this to happen because he thinks he'd surprise people by how well he does in an attacking setup.

Even though Pulisic and Abraham are playing over any expectations I agree with Frank. We still must improve in the final third. I mean it's almost half season and take away Grimsby and Super Cup Giroud, CHO, Pedro and Barkley haven't scored yet!? They are with Tammy, Michy, Pulisic, Willian and Mount our most offensive players. Mount started well but since September he just have that one goal. Also just one assist all season. Michy is terrible and Willian as usual rarely scores and even when he do it's already game over so his goal in Lille is only significant thing he did for us offensively this season. Before season I hoped all of this players could hit double figures but like I said Giroud, Pedro, CHO and Barkley still haven't scored in PL or CL. Zaha is not on my priority list actually far from it but he would improve us massively. Last season he had 10 goals and 10 assists which is great stats but this season he don't play good I think because of denied transfer request. Look how Pulisic numbers improved with us, maybe the same can happen with Zaha.
