Erling Haaland

Sure. No bid has gone in from Chelsea. No significant movements have happened as of yet due to many factors, such as Chelsea behind the scenes weighing up their targets and financial capabilities, Haaland being on holiday, etc. A deal of this size takes a lot of time, patience and back and forth, especially when you remember which clubs and agents are involved.

Shouldn't we already know by now whether we are financially capable of signing Haaland this summer?

And what's starting negotiations with Dortmund gotta do with Haaland being on holiday? Would imagine we need to clear that hurdle first since Dortmund's stance is that Haaland is not for sale this summer.

True but the thing with it is the longer we take to try and start doing a deal, there's a higher chance that we might up hitting a wall, can't agree on a deal and end up panic buying. It has happened before with this club.

Maybe we might hear/see something in within the next week or two but so far, only one side of the media are making all the ("annoying") noises.

I don't see the club offering €175M to Dortmund. If it's true the club are preparing a 'big offer' it will still probably be only around €100-120M to test the waters.

We have to remember that Raiola (and Haaland's dad if reports are to be believed) will want a big fee too and it will not come out of Dortmund's share. If the offer is €175M to Dortmund alone then the whole deal including agents fees would be north of €200M easily and I just can't see the club paying that much for anyone.

I know they say Fjortoft is reliable when it comes to Haaland and while this is related to Haaland, this "story" about us preparing for a "big offer" is not something that comes from Haaland's camp. So, I don't know how believable that is (different case altogether if the usual Chelsea journalists start to report the same thing, although it's only at the "preparing" stage) and not to mention, he tweeted something very similar a month ago, only to then say there has been no contact, no development etc few weeks later.

According to Bielefeld, Raiola demands around €40m in commission for himself as a consultant. Safe to say if this true i don't see we will buy Haaland.

If that's the case this deal is very close. We will pay 175m, no problem.

Dortmund can buy Vlahovic for like 40m and spend Haaland/Sancho money elsewhere. Vlahovic also won't be available next summer so selling Haaland now would be smart business for them. And no player is worth 100m for just one season. Plus this is most reliable source about Haaland and no surprise it comes out after EURO. We are in full offensive!

zero chance Vlahovic goes for only £40m, let alone €40m

Fiorentina are not stupid and are not desperate for cash like many other Serie A clubs

they have a low wage bill already, and never spend big

they just got a great 23yo Argie winger for only £20m, Nicolás González, who started multiple Copa america games, was scoring last season for Stuttgart at a rate tracking to over 20 goals

and that £20m is already 60% paid for via a few sales of dregs

that £20m is their biggest spend EVER in club history, they spent £18m on Cuadrado ages ago but sold him for a large profit to us, and we sold him on for a even larger profit to Juve

15m, 14m, 13.5m,  13m, 12.5m, 12m, 11m, 11m, 11m are the only other buys over £10m in the past 20 years

they have sold payers for HUGE profits for ages going back to Batistuta and Rui Costa days, plus recent huge sales like Bernardeschi

plus they released Ribery, one of their highest earners, and another Borja Valero, retired, and a they also released a 3rd, Martín Cáceres

they will drive a hard bargain for Vlahovic, potentially their best player they have had in 15, 20 years

they want to keep him one more year, then sell, so it will take a pretty huge offer to turn their heads

probably in the £60m (€70m) range

how the hell raiola demand the fee around €40m? it's just not logical. before get haaland,,i think marina would like to get cash from selling the other. at least €40m for tammy. than we have around €70m from tammy, tomori and moses,,only need €100m to splash from roman's pocket. and if we're lucky we can negotiate to put installment payment just like United did for Sancho....
