OneMoSalah 8,886
Tbf if it doesn’t get done this summer it just takes a bad season from him and they could potentially lose more than 25-30m euros off his price tag. Just get it done. 70-75m euros rest in add ons. If they want him to play EL let him, heres hoping Rangers can put one over them and knock them out 🤣 Dimitr

This would have been much more straightforward had Leverkusen not choked in the Top 4 race during the league season. Dimitr

Rekin 835
This deal being dragged out is to be honest not surprising at all. I would not take it as something to be concerned about. There is no clause, Leverkusen does not need money and wants to keep the player. They hold all the cards here, and Chelsea knows this. It was never going to be a simple negotiation. If Chelsea believes that they can save 10-20 m or get a better structured deal by playing this longer, they will 100% value that higher than Havertz having a few more days in training with us. Leverkusen is of course not completely invulnerable here. Havertz does not a long time left on his contract, and is apparently very interested in joining Chelsea. There is a risk that the player will be very unhappy with the club, and that his value next year will fall heavily due to the contract only having one year left at that point. There is also the EL competition. Missing CL is of course a disaster for them, and EL is the last chance for them to get it. They will not want to lose their best player before they are finished. My guess is that there is some heavy negotiation surrounding this issue. Overall it is a bit of a "who blinks first" situation right now. Both sides can afford to wait a few more weeks, but the longer it goes on the more of a risk it becomes. They most likely know this, and are trying to find a compromise, which will take more than one meeting. If you think of recent high price deals such as Maguire, Mbappe, Pogba, Griezmann, Coutinho etc they all dragged on for quite some time. These kind of high price transactions should never be rushed, even though fans like us would love our new toys asap.
Special Juan 28,141
So little has changed after reading through everything. This deal was always going to take a while, deals like this are never fast or straight forward. He's coming to Chelsea. lucio and Dimitr
lucio 5,418
I think Leverkusen will be due to play inter Milan in the next round , I doubt they have the wherewithal to progress further than that

Getafe were in horrible form since the La Liga restart (only 1 win in 11) so shouldn't be that hard for Inter to qualify. That QF game for Leverkusen would take place on Monday 10th August. lucio

Salah chose Pool when he could go to better club. He is now CL and PL winner. Why? Because they had amazing project with him as key player. We have good project too now and Havertz can either choose to be one of many stars in top team (that will surely decline at one point because no one can be the best consistently) or he can be the main star of very exciting project. Superblue 6,372
I know there is a pull with them because they are such a huge club, but any top player with half a brain at the moment would surely think twice about going to Barcelona. There is no direction at the club and they've essentially tried pushing for one last hurrah whilst Messi is still capable. An old team that have spent fortunes, but still reliant on one player time and again to produce the goods. lucio and ulsterchelsea
