Milan 17,957
He can have a fantastic year - winning the Champions League and now the African Cup of Nations (something like Mata and Torres). Happy for him, hopefully the Nigeria team can do the final step.
kellzfresh 7,229
He is playing so well for nigeria, so many accurate overhead passes to the striker from deep. I knew he could do this but i hope he replicates that ability for chelsea when he comes back.

I think he has given more accurate overhead passes for nigeria in this tournament than his whole career in chelsea. Sheva.

Well to be fair, Nigeria have a lot of pacy attackers, and they're so direct making good runs in behind. Something that doesn't happen a lot here. And thats the easiest way to break defences
Popular Post! y10edn 185 Posted February 8, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted February 8, 2013 AFCON confirms Mikel a discipline, and class player that plays to instructions. In CFC he hadly goes forward and restricts his passes to short ones to quality players like Mata, Oscar and Hazard however with Nigeria, given the freedom he sends out passes that looks like Steve Gerrards customary passes. Note there are 2 other midfielders taking responsibility unlike CFC were Lampard, Ramires, Cahill/Terry, Ivanovic are going forward at every opportunity. Victor Moses is class but will need to score more goals to be classified a striker, wish the CFC trio (Mikel, Moses and Omeruo) best of luck on Sunday. Shola Amoebi missed the chance of winning a trophy in his career by turning Nigeria down sad he's only played 30mins for Newcastle through out the duration of the AFCON (his loss), Peter Odemwinge wouldnt have been enmeshed in the QPR transfer mess if he had gone to AFCON as well. But he has really been playing well.. English Freak and The only place to be
DH1988 1,348
Always happens with Mikel, he looks like the player we shelled up money for (yes I'm aware Jose switched his position) and for us he seems to take the safest 5 yard Scott Parker passes
communicate 2,703
I heard that Mikel played like a true dpl for nigeria, a type of player that we really need

It's just that he plays a different role for Nigeria - at CFC he's instructed to play the way he does here. remains of the day and SeB
