Say what you want but last 5 games Werner with 2 goals is our only attacking player with goals. All other goals defenders or defensive midfielder. Should be 3 but ref.

Apparently, Werner has had 16 goals ruled out due to offside, VAR etc since joining the club.

He looks comical at times and can’t time his shots to save his life but his attitude is just gold.

Here's something quirkier - since Lukaku arrived, only two other attackers have scored - Werner and Havertz - and that Havertz goal came from a corner.

If his realization of big chances last season was 55% instead of 25% he would be easily POTY. Dont forget he had double digits assists from open play.

Not sure if that's a positive or negative, considering the last striker we had was slated for the same thing.

Either way, you have to commend his perseverance. If he could finish with regularity again, Lukaku might be benched (where he really deserves to be on recent performances).

All of the offside ones are down to him really but the VAR ones are just trash. From my memory, the VAR calls at Leicester, Liverpool and today are BS.

At this point, best to just take the good and bad with Werner. He's gonna score goals but he's also gonna miss chances. Hopefully, he'll do the former more than the latter.

As much as the lack of Champions League minutes has been bewildering, Werner has played 298 minutes this past month and started 3 of the last 4 games. Think that's not too bad? And it also came after Tuchel said Werner shook off some early season disappointment and was training better and sharper etc. Only Lukaku has played more minutes during the period. Mount was injured and off form. Havertz and Ziyech were underwhelming. Pulisic of course injured. I suppose this will become a bigger issue (along with some others) if the minutes and starts are low come January but I guess at the same time, it's also in Werner's hands to force Tuchel to play him more.

Well i didnt like how he was wasting chances last season but now he at least try to play and is better than Havertz/Ziyech.
Fun fact is that he has better G+A/90 than Lukaku now.

His interplay with Lukaku today was promising. They looked for each other constantly. Lukaku made some nice layoffs for him. Their job was easier given that Southampton almost got 0 protection for their back four. if werner+lukaku were a bit more technically accomplished they could have had a hattrick each today. that is always the danger of having two strikers with similar technical weaknesses. Other than that i think he has been improving every game and slowly regaining his confidence.
