FormerRussianSpy 163
Its because the club owners have refused to give their main investor a majority share. Read this the other dayAs cool as the move to China was as far as expanding football and making bank for his foundation, I'd love to see him return to his beloved Marseille. MLS is a career graveyard for players who are in the same position, the move to China was barely a step above that. Who wouldn't love to see Drogba still competing ?Edit: Even if it turns out to just be a rumor right now, that club is on the verge of a financial meltdown because the investor is inches from pulling out. Matter of time at this point.

Leif 6,006
I hope he signs for Marseille. He'd love it, the fans would love it, and he would be more than capable of bossing Ligue 1 even at this age. Drogzola and Kieran.
Beirut_Blues 306
Before the summer there were rumours of him coming to Hilal in RIyadh.... A lot of African players come to Saudi so I'd like to see Drog wear the Blue of Hilal.PS. I hate Hilal but Drogba can change that.
CHOULO19 24,332
No.No turning back, we're not desperate like Arsenal, upwards and onwards.Exactly this. We're not like Arsenal who resigned Henry or worse like utd who brought Scholes from retirement (lol). He left at exactly the perfect time, a return would just ruin his image with the fans. I think it is either OM or the MLS for DD. Danelka
Blue Armour 4,439
It would send out all the wrong messages, just goes to show how small-time some fans are, the same who still mourn for Mourinho etc. It's wrong on so many levels, it would show how poorly this club is run and would make the board look clueless, so from that perspective I doubt they would bring him back.Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought you were also mourning for Mourinho a few months ago...or was it just because of AVB? Atwa 78
Even if this is true, which seems highly unlikely. I don't want him back.It was written in the stars, he ended it perfectly. If he would play for us or someone else in the premier league some of that magic would be lost.
Milan 17,957
The first club I was thinking of when I read this - Marseille. zolayes
Jase 43,479
No, I wouldn't take him back. He's a Chelsea legend but he left in the best possible way, winning the Champions League. No need to come back and potentially ruin the legacy he has created here. Furthermore, it's time to move on and usher a new era at the club. Beirut_Blues 306
Before analyzing where he'll end up, what are his options? Transfer window's closed and he was under contract until after the closure, so I don't think he can just join any team.
zolayes 14,489
The first club I was thinking of when I read this - Marseille.would be good ,,worst would be England's Marseille
Jype 6,398
If it's true that he has been released, I would want him to join either Marseille or Juventus. Marseille for obvious reasons, but Juventus because they're a top class team without top class strikers so Didier would probably be their star man. Also Juventus being in the same CL group with us would definitely make things interesting.

Naked Mole Rat 437
The guy that opened this topic in the transfer talk should be banned.I wholeheartedly agree. Even though I think Duppy Conqueror's been one of the better posters, because there is ABSOLUTELY nothing worse than merely suggesting the possibility of the return of Drogba I think he should be banned. FOREVER. Yes, that would be very appropriate. Henrique
Ollie 4,400
Wow shocking. Why sigh him then if u can't afford him you knobs. I hope he goes to the USA because he'd be a great there and there are so many nice places to go. Go to Seattle.Surely as a free agent now he can go where he wants.
