DH1988 1,348
Kounde.. Jesus no. If Reece was that bothered he'd sign a deal to reduce his wages, that's where my frustration comes from, I can't speak to how he lives his life, diet etc but I do know he's drains us per week

Chelsea is a multinational company which took the risk when offering that contract to James, and James got injured during fulfilling his contract duties. After the damages he suffered in the last few years, he will clearly never be able to earn this much money again. Why is it him who should be generous? We are paying dozens of players on high wages. Blue Armour 4,439
One thing the news articles don't reveal is whether it's the same hamstring he had surgery on, or the other one. I remember when he recovered from surgery, his surgeon mentioned that he would still be vulnerable on the leg that didn't have surgery. I wasn't at all. Thats the first time anyone's ever brought that up, the countless posts and stories that are written about injured players costing clubs X. It shows how the media and group think can influence discourse. If thinking about things logically, if clubs/executives didn't insure for such large outlays, it would be a sackable offence in any industry. The players however that are problematic are the ones that sign big contracts and aren't good enough. It is why I always respect players like Werner who leave cash on the table to go and play. DH1988 1,348
Post all the instagram stories you want but God, this is beyond frustrating, as a fan, not knowing what has actually caused his body to breakdown like this. Lifestyle, personal trainers that seem to be all the rage right now, diet, who knows.

Vesper 30,185
He is nearing perma-damaged territory. Disastrous fall from being the best RB on the planet to now being a full-time injury lister.
Blue Armour 4,439
Back in training, but won't feature before the end of the year, according to Maresca., because he wants to take time building back his fitness. Hope he can suggest something different for his physical conditioning too. With Gusto and Cucurella both fit, we are okay, but the moment we need to bring in a Disasi we are conceding a lot of advantages we have. This is where James is missed. We need a backup LB for sure., but the priority should be a top tier CB (if possible) Edited December 23, 2024 by Blue Armour Vesper
NikkiCFC 8,324
So that's now Enzo, Caicedo, Lavia, James and Santos for 2 positions. Edited March 7 by NikkiCFC Fernando

Only now, after multiple injuries- which I put down to having the wrong frame to play a modern FB/WB role - we put him there. Yes we drop a bit but he has a lot that we can build for next season. I sure do hope we finish top 4 so he can have more freedom this summer with shaping the squad. I’ve been saying for awhile as well Reece should play as a holding midfielder after his first major injury too. He was brilliant there for Wigan and he has the technical ability to do so. Also it limits his need to sprint after fast wingers to do in his dodgy hamstrings Fernando

Did he see it or did he see him get out spirited by Fabian Schar and thought, got to put him somewhere else, then figure it out?
