OneMoSalah 8,886
If he is done for rape, he should 100% be sacked. Really cant see how it would be a debate. Might ruffle a few feathers here but really do think if anyone disagrees they should take their head out of their arse. He will be lucky to avoid jail time yet alone not get sacked if this is true and he has done what they are reporting. If it turns out this is a money grab plot by the lassie though she should be ashamed of herself. These things do happen too it is scary what folk will do for attention. Regardless he will face some sort of disciplinary to say the least for even having a meet up during lockdown. Also people saying about Ronaldo and rape, jesus christ cmon, he was accused twice and cleared twice. I think the first one came out and said she lied and the second one he had basically given them access to everything they needed to determine if he did it or not and the allegations were dropped. Until all the details are out there and the case is build or ripped apart depending on whether its true or not they cannot be compared. lucio, Warning_Hazard and Essien19

King Kante 1,643
Makes me laugh that some people are saying 'if he has done this he will have to be sacked', because if he has done this he is going to be banged up for a good 3-7 years (or even longer), depending on the severity. This isn't snorting a little colombian marching power and banging groupies as if you're Rick James. The only good thing about this case is that the poilce/medical teams where able to get to the crime scene very quickly. This should allow for solid evidence so if he did do this then they can bang him up no problems, while if he didn't then he should be able to clear his name quickly. Vesper 30,185
Hudson-Odoi facing big questions after rape allegation https://theathletic.com/1820580/2020/05/19/hudson-odoi-chelsea-premier-league-allegation/ The sentence is just 10 words long but hits you in the pit of your stomach: Callum Hudson-Odoi has been arrested on suspicion of rape. It has to be pointed out that these are only allegations at this stage. As a short statement released by the Metropolitan Police, who didn’t name the Chelsea winger, goes on to explain, the man in question “was released from custody and bailed to return on a date in mid-June. Enquiries continue”. When asked about the charges, a representative of Hudson-Odoi, who said he was speaking on the player’s behalf, told MailOnline: “He says he’s innocent. That’s all you need to know. He’s innocent, he hasn’t done anything wrong. We’ve got no other comment to make.” There has been no comment from Chelsea or the 19-year-old himself about the original front-page story by The Sun newspaper. At the very least, Hudson-Odoi chose to break guidelines that are still in place regarding social distancing by inviting a woman into his home. He is aware of the reality of the coronavirus, having been the first Premier League player to test positive in March. Whatever happens from now on, Hudson-Odoi has a battle on his hands. He always hoped to be the centre of attention one day but not for things like this. It could be said that the last 12 months haven’t gone according to plan at all. This time last year he was on crutches following a serious achilles tendon injury, a problem that not only ruled him out of the Europa League final but could also have irreparably damaged his chances of a move to Bayern Munich. Hudson-Odoi handed in a transfer request in January 2019 and it is understood personal terms with Bayern were close to being agreed before he suffered the rupture against Burnley three months later. Chelsea had never given up hope of keeping the teenager and used his change in fortunes to arrange a new five-year contract worth a basic salary of £120,000-a-week. When it was confirmed in September, the club’s fanbase reacted enthusiastically. Yet more money inevitably brings greater expectations. Talk that he demanded Eden Hazard’s No 10 shirt following the Belgian’s departure to Real Madrid as part of the negotiations brought even more scrutiny. In the end, Willian was given No 10, but while a section of fans saw Hudson-Odoi’s request as just a positive sign over confidence levels, others regarded it as arrogance. After all, Hazard was one of the best players in the club’s history and Hudson-Odoi, outstanding academy graduate though he is, had only started his first Premier League game in April. His return to fitness was much anticipated. The wait ended on September 25 against Grimsby in the EFL Cup third round and there was a goal to mark the occasion. Assists in successive games against Brighton, Lille, Southampton and Newcastle sparked a lot of optimism. But only two more goals and one more assist came before a hamstring injury in February. Instead of praise, Twitter became a source of stark criticism. The Athletic revealed in December that Hudson-Odoi had even spoken about it with team-mates, looking for some reassurance. It was clear that the winger was being judged in some quarters on the size of his salary and his age. Inexperience at senior level and the inevitable difficulty of coming back from such a serious injury had not been taken into account. Coach Frank Lampard spoke out in his defence when asked about the situation following the 2-1 win at Arsenal on December 29, saying: “He’s coming off the back of a big injury and this is certainly a period we have to stick with him through. He’s very young. There was a lot of chat last year about his contract — would he or wouldn’t he? — and now he has signed. “And now he’s in a period where he has to get his head down and work, and he knows that. Now he has to show what he can be for this club. It’s down to him now. “I showed faith with him and I’ll continue to do that but we also have to go with him a bit. I’ve sat here and probably been a bit harsh on him at times but now is not the moment to do that because I think I saw an effort and desire, and I’ve seen it in training in the last couple of weeks.” A first Premier League goal in a fine display against Burnley in January had Lampard enthusing that everyone had seen “the real Callum Hudson-Odoi”, but it is understood there have been occasions when the Chelsea head coach has also lost patience with the protege. Indeed, sources have told The Athletic that Lampard has held a few meetings with the England international to give him a bit of a talking to, whether it be words of encouragement or a much stronger variety. There was a sign of apathy toward him from the stands, too. When he was substituted during the home defeat against Southampton on Boxing Day, there were none of the outcries that greeted Maurizio Sarri whenever he made such a move last season. In fact, there were audible groans when Hudson-Odoi gave the ball away for the first goal and the arrival of Christian Pulisic in his place was warmly welcomed. He has been frustrating at times on the pitch, too. There were too many outings where he played with caution, while examples of beating an opponent with some fancy footwork became few and far between. He has created only five chances all season and completed 48 per cent of his dribbles, while only 12 out of 46 (26.1 per cent) attempted crosses from open play found a team-mate. The problem is competition at Chelsea is always high. Granted Pedro and Willian will not be there next season, whenever it starts, as their contracts aren’t being renewed, but Pulisic is now fully recovered from various niggles of his own and ready to build on the six goals and five assists he managed in all competitions. Hakim Ziyech, who is joining from Ajax for an initial £33 million, can play out wide as well as his favoured No 10 role, just like Lampard’s seemingly favourite youngster Mason Mount. Chelsea’s plan before the pandemic struck was to continue to spend on more targets in attacking areas, too. They had initially looked into signing Dries Mertens, showing their hopes to strengthen that position, though now it appears the Belgian will remain at Napoli. Where Hudson-Odoi ranks is up for debate. Regardless of what happens from here, this scandal has undoubtedly let down Lampard and the club. This is a very unwelcome distraction when complex discussions are continuing about the possibility of football returning next month and training resumes under strict protocols this week. With football not having any fans watching in the stands for some time yet, Hudson-Odoi will be spared the kind of chants to which players are subjected whenever they have been involved in controversy off the pitch. But there is no hiding place from the 1.1 million followers on Instagram or his 280,000 on Twitter. Of course, there is another manager to bring into the equation — Gareth Southgate. It will be a while before England play again, but it will be understandable if the national team manager also has concerns about which direction Hudson-Odoi is heading and he will naturally be monitoring any further fall-out from this high-profile indiscretion. The next update on the legal side of things will have to wait another month after Hudson-Odoi was released on bail. Being back on a training pitch may help serve as a temporary distraction, but Hudson-Odoi won’t be able to escape from the possibility his life and playing career is already at an early crossroads.
