I think its form that shows that he is definitely worthy of a renewal. He is our first choice LB comfortably. We could wait longer but again undoubtedly other clubs will have noticed, Juventus especially who have wanted him before (and this summer). Wouldnt be surprised if there were other clubs too. Plus its not always as easy as offering a deal and it being signed the next day, as we have seen with CHO. Dont see why being in a rush is an issue? Its hardly as if we are offering him 180k after 10 Europs Leagues like certain others. It makes perfect sense. Not saying Emerson is a bad player but just because another club want a player, doesn't mean he's WOW or anything like that. After all, you're talking about a club who swapped Cancelo for Danilo and intended to do the same with Dybala for Lukaku. Furthermore, Atletico bought Torres and Morata from us, would you say they're top players when the deals happened? If Emerson has only 2 years left on his contract now, then I would understand the need to perhaps extend it ASAP but that's not the case. What if his current form is just a purple patch? What if we suddenly ended up with another deadwood on a long term contract?

Thats us fucked for who knows how long with that snail Alonslow hauling his ass around the pitch like an ocean cruise liner. Fuck Alonso. He and Willian should have been sold in 2018. £90m or so flushed down the shitter after Willian leaves on a free and we get around half for La Tortuga versus his 2018 valuation.   killer1257

These hamstring injuries realy suck. Diego Costa at Chelsea always had these hamstring injuries. The problem is that the muscle is not strong enough after the injury and usually gets injured again. Yeah I had a chronic groin injury once. Took me a couple of years to really fix it. specialists explain that the scar tissue is less flexible than healthy one. Just needs loads of time, strengthening and stretching. Mostly time tho. killer1257

I agree. I don´t think that its that bad though, but Emerson´s injury probably needs a lot of strengthening and some rest depending on what actually caused the injury. Maybe also soft stretching. He will be alright, but should really get to 100% next time.
BlueLion. 21,491
Silly decision to let him play when he quite clearly wasn't fit. I don't think you can blame Lampard for this one - the medical department will give him a yes or no, and they clearly didn't think about safeguarding the player's long-term wellbeing here. NikkiCFC 8,324
4 weeks out. I'm so pissed! One more month of playing Alonso. And all of this when James and CHO are back. I was so excited of having Emerson and CHO on the left side and James and Pulisic on the right
LAM09 7,056
We pay for bringing players back too early. Something is seriously wrong with the fitness coaches/doctors. Players are either fully fit or not.   bigbluewillie, Supermonkey92 and Atomiswave

Magic Lamps 11,692
Looks like our medical department fucked up once again. He should clearly have been rested. Hopefully it was just bad luck. Honestly if there was one season to wirte off it is this one so nevermind all the injuries happening in this season as well as long as they dont reoccur when we are ready to compete next year again. Still it is kinda worrysome how solid we were in the apst and how the injuries and rushed comebacks are piling up this season

Kante, Rudiger and now Emerson. Have they all been rushed back? Emerson definitely was rushed. Kante was fine. He got a totally unrelated injury that come from a tackle. Rudiger is an interesting case. Lamps said he had the problem in his groin for awhile, so it almost seemed like it was something unlikely to get worse. He had played in multiple developmental games and came out fine. So was he rushed back? Maybe. Not from his original injury, but from not allowing the new one to totally heal, which of course might be related in some way to the previous.Mount definitely seemed rushed back too. I don't think he quite went in to tackles the same as usual.Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

You cant suffer this much without a reason. Just dont rush them back, thats a start. Medical department not up to the task maybe I dont know, but the shit is not normal. We could easily not get top4 if this keeps going. Alonso for 1month? Fuck that. Perhaps but a manager can always overrule that and just not play him. You would think a manager should notice if a player was or wasn't 100% either in training or prior to the game but the players can also say they are ready when they arent as they want to play etc. Think the blame should be split between manager and medical team rather than solely given to the medical team who have always been very good here (unsure how much or if any personnel did change this summer). Worth note saying Kante and Rudiger suffered similar things, came back from injury and were back out almost immediately.
