Magic Lamps 11,692
Against such a slow, old and short defense a striker like morata would have had a field day. Without hin this became the arduous affair we all expected.

BXL70 396
We are missing quality players, not even mentioning top quality players. For example, Zappacosta was just horrendous. That draw shows what we are.
Pizy 18,928
Don't know why people are saying it was drab or boring. We were sending wave after wave of attack, dominated the midfield and should've scored 2-3. It was one of our best attacking performances of the season in terms of asserting our dominance. Everton seemed to have 8 players in their box and 2 players on the line in addition to the keeper at all times. No way through.
communicate 2,703
It is big Sam team what people expect. They are going to play conservative football and pray that they score from set pieces. We know that before the game even start. The problem was we simply cannot keep playing this 343 with 3 small player up top with 2 conservatives cm all the time. It is like watching the same movie against soton. We get the ball, Kante passing is very conservative whereas bakayoko tried to be a bit more vary but he tend to miss that pass. Get it to Hazard, Willian or Pedro who is swarmed by defenders. Push it wide for Moses or Alonso who struggle to beat player one on one. Get it back to our front 3,then push it to another wing. Same story. Try to cross, without any runner from midfield, fail rinse repeat.

A true quality would turn this game into a winning one. Even against 8 players in the box.

It was similar to game against soton, if Alonso did not scored from free kick, I didn't feel like we are going to score.

Dominated defensively and in midfield yes but no drive or ideas up top and not threatening to score. Pass around the box with no urgency, no one in the box then attempt to flick it through 4 opposition players . Can't remember any clear cut chances we had today. drab performance yet again

Yes, we pinned them back but we didn't create many clear chances, did we? Even when we did have a chance, like the one very early in the second half, Pedro completely fluffed it. Plus, the front 3 of Hazard, Willian and Pedro is getting really annoying to watch. It looks a decent combination on paper but at times, we have looked more interested in going for the flicks, back heels rather than trying to get the goal. We have been trying to walk it in rather than just be direct and shoot when the space, even a little, opens up! Worst part is, we play at a snail tempo and without any real movement. Everything is almost in front of the opposition defence, making it so easy for them to defend. Rather than us trying to be creative, trying to do something out of ordinary to break them, we practically need them to have a lapse in defence for us to score, which isn't the recipe for success! Beigl 1,387
Our wingbacks are so terrible. Moses is a great athlete, but lacks football IQ and skills on the ball. Alonso is good at kicking the ball, but he is slow, weak and has no stamina, which means he is useless in 7 out of 10 games. And I don´t even know how someone would come to the conclusion that buying Zappacosta for 26 mio. pounds is a good idea.

Belgiannutt 3,201
We just lack quality on the ball. Pedro, Wilian just aren't good enough. Bakayoko shouldn't be playing against teams that sit deep against us. Not sure why Fabregas didn't start this game ? Alonso did he actually do anything today ? Zappacosta... that attempt at a cross pretty much sums him up.

When I am talking about taking more risky pass, I am not talking about lofted through ball like, I want a hard pass bypassing Everton midfield straight to Hazard so he doesn't have to face two layer of defence all the time. It's too big 625
It's inconsistency, not so much quality. Pedro and Willian do have the quality and attributes needed to be incredibly useful to this side, it's just one game either of them will have a fantastic game and contribute massively, or the next game their passing is off and they run down blind alleys. Azpinator 2,325
I still have a headache because of this game. It's one thing that we lack quality in some areas but that bus parking from Everton was beyond draining. I now feel like I have no interest in talking or thinking about football or anything really. BlueLyon 9,359
We attacked and attacked but without any real determination in finishing. You can smell a goal sometimes, its just gonna happen. I didnt feel that today despite we were attacking and attacking. We dont have killer finishing or players that can do it It was hard game and you always have these games every season, but we had too many of them and its not even january. I think another top striker wouldnt be bad move in january or summer despite Morata. But we need wingbacks, RW and midfield strenghtened too. It feels we did very little last summer in terms of improving. We bought new striker, new fullback, new midfielder but neither area feels any bit improved. Rudiger was good addition in defence, we have that sorted so at least we dont have to worry there. But other areas are still realy problematic. We BADLY need a goalscorer. You know there's issues when our third highest scorer in the league this season is a WB with FOUR goals! Think it was you who mentioned this previously but our lack of goalscorers, compared to some of the others, haven't been exposed due to our defensive solidity. Conte is a pragmatic manager by nature anyway but you wonder if his extra conservatism some in games this season is because he knows this team doesn't score many goals. Hence, he doesn't want to risk too much in certain situations, rather take a point if he can help it than lose all and fall behind the others. Unfortunately, I'm not sure our club will be willing to spend any significant amount of money halfway through the season. They're probably content with what we have. I would be shocked if we brought in anyone top quality. Probably another decent, but not great addition like Zappacosta level.
