He is a good shooter. I hope Barkley can also do this.

How many long shots did he make last night? You would think by the law of averages 1 might go in.

Was unluvky here tho.

Often doesn't seem to offer much more

Was unlucky against Norwich with his shooting but today he probably didn't hit the target more than once, if at all. Solid enough player, pity he wasnt 3 or 4 years younger he could still grow a bit more but I've said it before 35m was too much but thats the English/homegrown VAT on top, isnt it?

Can't believe we spent 36m on Drinkwater. He is the very definition of mediocre.

money that should ave been spent on someone like Authur melo...well that wont make sense cos we have morons at the helms of affairs of the club....

Drinkwater is painfully average...

It’s not even that that’s the worst for me. We literally have his position in the squad covered in Kanté and Bakayoko. Such an unecessary buy. Doesn’t offer anything different. Constantly injured. On quite high wages also.

He isn’t an elite passer, isn’t great at influencing the midfield, isn’t that athletic, just offers nothing interesting.

Who ever sanctioned/recommended this signing needs to be sacked.

It was another last minute deal to appease Conte & he's HG.

I don't get it what do you mean by we have this position covered with Baka and kante. I think people forget how porous our defense look when fab play in two man midfield early season when Baka was injured. Plus he is hg which is a bonus

Pointless signing he's not needed and sometimes you have to wonder about footballers. If he stayed at Leicester he's an automatic start and may force his way back into the England squad. Joins us knowing full well he's going to be a benchwarmer and gets the odd game where he looks extremely average ( anyone could have shined against Stoke). Scott Parker was the same too good for Charlton not good enough for Chelsea. Of course money is a massive factor and the spotlight that comes with playing for Chelsea but surely there were better options than him for that sort of money.

I think some players just want to try (and risk to fail) with bigger clubs (and win some more trophies). After his career is over he would think 'at least I try' instead of thinking 'What if...'

I meant his role, basically. We have two DMs already so why sign another squad filler for £35m? Who isn’t even really offering anything more than Chalobah for example. Drinkwater was injured when we signed him too. It’s just not a great signing.

Definition of panic buy. We probably have good relations with Leicester and the club reverted to somebody they knew they could sign 100% when it was clear we needed somebody, same with Zappacosta, hence them being the definitions of panic buys on deadline day.

Matic was sold late in July. We had ample time to scout a decent replacement for him but we were linked with Drinkwater from day one. It boils my blood because we could've signed a very good player for 36m yet ended up with someone who makes Mikel's passing look adventurous.

He won the league with his Leicester but lost out on a Euro 2016 place to Jack Wilshere who barely played all season.

He's probably got a bigger chance playing squad player with us than staying at The Foxes, he rightly or wrongly.

It's disgusting that after so many years, our one and only creative CM is Fabregas. We have been constantly filling the squad with workhorses and not players who can help us going forward. With Fabregas going downhill already, who the heck are we gonna get?
