Nope, not joking.

First half? LOL. Have you forgotten he went 6 games without a goal in the "first half?"

He scored like 10 goals in the first half of the season. Nobody else even got close to him for that output here.

Have you already forgotten Diego Costa or....?

Diego Costa didn't play for us this season. Which is precisely why I said Morata carried us the first half of the season. Because in terms of goals, he did.

He scored because he had enough time to set his body on the right foot and shot. He is good at that. Times when there are no circumstances to set his body on the right foot is where I want to see him succeeding, those are the times when he was really awful.

He took his goal well, but i noticed something else during the match that i find far more important and i am surprised noone else has mentioned it.

There were 3-4 instances where he could have easily thrown himself on the ground, like he has done all season, but instead he opted to stay on his feet and try to hold the ball like every normal player. This shows what many people have been saying, that his antics are not down to him being physically weak, but rather him having poor mentality, something that is affecting his whole game, including his (in)ability to score.

Now, i am not saying that this is a clear indication of him deciding to turn a new page, i am just hoping it is a sign of him working towards that direction.

He seems to be hitting the gym.

plays well even when his finishing is way off. Great finish vs Leicester, finally.

not a bad goal ratio considering his injury and time to fully recover & first season.

looking forward to next season and expect a vast improvement from him.

the squad needs more players scoring goals, like William has been doing lately.

I never gave up on him and still won't mainly because we will be stuck with him for a few years anyway now given the sum he has paid. He took his goal well even though everyone expected him to fuck up again

v. Arsenal 2-2 game says hi.

To those saying "people are getting impatient", we should be and there is no problem with that. Let me remind you:

- Morata was suppose to replace Costa
- We paid 70-FECKING-million for the guy
- We are 5th in the league (I'm aware that this is not entirely his fault, but Morata DOES take some blame for this, even though it's like 10%)
- He is 25 years old. He is getting close to his prime years and hasn't done anything solid in the past 2 years.
- On top of Chelsea could be the only top 6 team playing Europa next season
- He is producing awful after awful performances. He is more consistent being awful then good.
- Morata is our "starman", and he is the worst top 6 starman in the league (however United's Sanchez may take that title away from him)
- Did I mention we paid £70m for him?

people have all right to be impatient. but it is not that only because he is 25 he will not be a better striker for us in the future. sure, he will not become much quicker or more technical now he has hit his physical peak. but mentality is imo the major reason he has sucked so far. not being composed enough in front of goal is often a confidence issue. and going to ground easily is also a habit he can stop at any age. he has to get used to how strikers are dealt with by most pl defenders. if he is settled he will improve albeit he will never be a 70m striker but we arleady knew that.

People are forgetting that he had 2 months to recover after his first injury when we played Arsenal.

Looking at that chart, the claim of Morata giving the most points in the PL is incorrect.

Think the fella meant for us...

P.S. Knew you would 'bite'! :P

not bad considering striker is, by far, the most dependent position in the squad. People keep blaming the squad on hazard thread, which I find very ironic tbh...

Now IMO Morata would have a far stronger claim that the (overall quality of the) team hasn't helped him enough.

You should watch him miss sitters, fall down at every chance and collect dumb cards again, nothing to do with the squad not being supportive enough.
