This is the problem with these sky-high transfer fees. Sounds solid enough mate. That's the only reason why I think anyone would want to spend 40m on him especially given his poor performances against City and Juventus in the CL last season.

he's 23 , he should be showing signs of quality , its not like he is 16 , saying a  poor standard youngish player might get better in the future, does not justify the signing or continued selection

Say what you will about Drinkwater but at least he's good at the basics like controlling a pass and making simple ones himself. At the moment, any time a teammate isn't standing still while Baka passes them the ball it's wayward.
